4.4.2 is rolling out on the Nexus 5, who has it?

Nothing on my N5 4.4, Giffgaff, Cumbria UK here yet.

Update came last night... Seems good. - Friday 13th though!

If anyone can explain or post a link to where they show a step by step process guiding me how to do it without messing up a week old Nexus 5, it would be appreciated

got it yesterday.. got to be on wi-fi. As soon as i connected to wi-fi N5 notified me.. it was said in the description Wi-Fi only utill December 13 or something

I have the first version of the Nexus 7 from the Play Store and the updates are timely. Already got the OTA 4.4.2 update. Glad to see support for the older products not just the new ones.

I am new to sdk, adb, sideload, etc. I tried twice to update from 4.4 to 4.4.2 with no joy. I am on a MacBook Pro, so ran into a few issues before finally succeeding (!) on my third try.

1. On a Mac, commands are given in Terminal. Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
2. In Terminal "cd" is the prefix command to select location.
3. In Terminal "./" must immediately precede "adb" .
4. Safari automatically unzips "safe" files. I was trying to use an unzipped folder. Disable auto-unzipping in Safari thus: Safari > Preferences > General > Open "safe" files after downloading: uncheck.

I know all this information is out there, and there is probably a great tutorial that I missed. I think all my trial and error was a good thing. I got to feel my way through some of the processes and not just follow a set of instructions. Thanks to the Android community for the encouragement. I'm glad I kept at it, it feels great to have the update through my own efforts, rather than waiting and checking my phone for the updates to be pushed to me.

You can also right click on the file link, select 'download linked file as' and provide a destination folder and change the file name if desired. This way you don't have to change any Safari settings, and it won't unzip the file.

all right!! Finally! I "have" the update, well it is waiting to download on wifi..... which i am currently on. Google needs to come up with a way where you can download updates over the network. Wasn't there a way to do this in older versions of Android?

I received the notification ota and clicked on download. It said it was restarting and got an error message with a droid on it. When I started the phone I had no notification and I'm still on kikat 4.4. I have a nexus 5. Is this normal?

No, bootloader does not have to be locked. Only the Android sdk installed and enable debugging on the device to make the magic happen.
