I have a rooted RAZR M which is getting pushed the KitKat update daily from Verizon. I disable root with OTA and attempt to install. The install file is 182.46.10.en.us. The phone reboots and when it starts back up informs me that the update failed.

Honestly, I could care less about the update (I plan on upgrading phones in about a month). I just want the forced download and daily reboots to stop. Is there a way I can disable the forced updates pushed to me from Verizon? Thank you

Nope.

Wow that sucks. Install keeps failing. Every 12 hours I have to reject it.

The only way I am told you can get rid of it is by rooting.

FYI... I used this method to get it to stop:

Located "updater.apk" in /system/app/ renamed it to "[whateveritis].BAK" and I froze it.

Use RSD Lite and flash it. Then root it with towel root and unlock the boot loader

+1 what he said. If you care about root it's the best thing you can do and once unlocked you can go back to jb without too much hassle
