4.4.4 Notifications

M8 - Three in UK - 4.4.4 software

Previously when I had a notification (SMS/email/etc) I had the notification tone once and then the LED kept flashing until I read the message.
Now the default notification and the vibration happen every few seconds until I read the message.
How can I get back to a single notification and the flashing LED?

Some please answer - this is driving me nuts! Additionally, my primary gmail account will not use the zedge notification message - only the device default.

Does this not happen for anyone else?
Or does it happen for everyone, but no-one else finds it a problem?

Maybe the default changed to on with the latest release?

I didn't even know that was there, great find! I work in construction and don't hear the first notification and wanted this feature, I had it with my Samsung Galaxy S III and it came in handy. I just set it for 3 minutes, now I need to get a message.

Every 15 seconds was driving me crazy.
With 3 or 5 minutes as options I may decide to use it
