45 Watt chargers.

I grabbed a couple of these 45W chargers which have been working great and fast charges my Dell Laptop, my LG Stylo 4 and my Galaxy Note 8:

And to solve the problem of the "No headphone jack" I brought one of these for when I'm in rental cars for work so I can charge and use the Aux simultaneously:

Yeah I did the same thing and ordered a good 45 watt charger from Amazon , bc the 2 that I ordered from Samsung won't get here until Sept 13 , problem is they're not going to work
The Samsung chargers have a propietary system called PPS that lowers the wattage and increases the amperes in the second half of the charging cycle , (or something to like that ) that keeps your phones battery and the charging block at an optimal temperature and increase charging speed
Our note 10+ with this charger will charge from 0-100 in 40 minutes
(45 watt chargers they sell on Amazon don't have PPS , they won't give us that 0-100 in 40 speed or keep our batterys cool)

PPS is not proprietary. It is part of the USB PD 3.0 specification.

its not proprietary, its just not widely used. probably because until now, there wasn't a real need.

Just so all are aware, the only way to get the full benefit of the full fast charging currently is to buy the Samsung 45 watt charger brick. They are using a different technology than what these other 45 watt and up chargers use, including the Apple ones. You likely will be limited to speeds that are not really any faster than 25 watts, which is what the Note 10/10+ come with anyways.

My "45 watt charger" from Amazon charges at 15w. I'm pretty sure 25w requires the same specs as 45w which is why you only get 15w with a 45w charger.

Most of the comments in this forum are fishing in the dark.

fishmd (no pun intended) is right. Specifically:

1. Cable must be ubs version 3.1 Gen 2, capacity 5A. Any and all dongles/adapters must follow the same standard (or else the "conversation" between the charger and the phone will be disrupted) and it won't charge at highest speed.

2. Normal standard pd charger will utilize 15Wx3V=45A standard. Samsung charger does not work that way, it utilizes 10Wx4.5V=45A.

Many chargers will charge the phone. But, anything that does not exactly match the above will not work for the highest speed charging: the phone does not handle more than 10W, and many of the chargers will not output more than 3V.

Also, there is no way to check the actual success of the higher charging rate without measuring what is going through the cable. So, this is the meter I am using and it works like a charm:

MakerHawk USB Power Meter, TC66 USB Tester Type C USB Voltage Meter and Current Tester, 0.96 Inch IPS Color LCD Display Power Tester Multimeter PD Ammeter Voltmeter QC 2.0 3.0 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NXRPNP...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6629494

That is how I came up with this table for the 25W charger. I'll do the same thing when I get the 45W Samsung charger.

I've been using the same meter in my hunt for a dongle with a USB charging port and a 3.5MM earphone jack. No luck, I've returned 2 so far...

Question on the 45 Watt charger. Can you plug in a phone that doesn't support 45 Watt charging, such as a s10+ without damaging the phone?

Yes. The phone, cable, and charger negotiate for the best charging protocol supported by all three components. For the actual charging rate, that is them determined by the phone. Using a stronger charger will not damage the phone or battery, unless there's a defect of course.

From the reviews I've seen on the Samsung 45W chargers, the 0-100% charging time isn't much different than the 25W charger. That makes sense when you understand Li-ion charging.

Faster chargers only give you extra speed in the first stage of charging (below about 50% capacity), where battery voltage rises quickly. Due to how the chemistry works, that means the second stage saturation charge will take longer than on the weaker charger. The second stage is constant voltage, variable current. As the battery saturates, the current (and thus, wattage) goes down. At this point it doesn't matter what the charger is rated, as it's not putting out full power anymore.

Since its not recommended to run full charge cycles on Li-ion batteries, the amount of time you should be low enough to make use of 45W charging speeds would be minimal, and not worth the price of the charger IMHO.

Thanks, I'll have to look into those!
Those chargers will only be able to charge the Note 10 at maximum 30W. Their highest Amperage is 3 Amps, and the note will only take 10V, so you can expect 10Vx3A=30W.

I have already purchased the Andobil dongle you mentioned and using the following meter I measured that only 5W gets to the phone, so I returned the Andobil dongle as well. I was disappointed too.

I'm interested in seeing your test results with the Samsung 45W PPS charger, but I wouldn't be surprised if you get false readings. This would need to have the various protocols negotiated too, just like the cable, phone, and charger. It doesn't look like it's compatible with PPS/10V power.

I keep all protocols turned off on the meter, and keep it simple, reading only what comes across the wire and making no interpretations.

Also regarding the dongle, please note what I discovered - (pictures below) -

Does the Samsung 45 watt charger even exist yet? Haven't seen any videos of anything on the official 45 watt charger.
Still waiting on Samsung to ship mine the middle of the month.

Well there's issues with that adapter for Note10 Plus read the reviews and the 25watt charger is faster than that 45watt charger you linked.

Yeah, I waiting on mine also. Not sure I'll use it. I'm happy with my charging now😏

Heads up everyone, the shop Samsung app has the 45w charger available! Act fast!!....
