Well, here in Rochester NY I was able to pick up a 4G connection while I was out at lunch. Note: We're not officially live for 4G yet. It will be interesting to see what localized areas will have 4G signal before official announcements are made.

4G is supposedly launching in late June here in Richmond, VA. I was able to get between 1-2 bars all day today. So maybe they are turning it on slowly here and testing before they go to full power.

so in the top black bar it still says "3G" and has 5 bars. i hit the 4 g button, waited while the lines flickered, and the slider bar went green.
since the top bar still says 3g i'm assuming i'm only in 3g mode?
but now would be available to search for 4g?
also in richmond, va. also heard we should have 4g by august. the latest clearwire announcement added us.

1st, I'm not a teacher so I'm not adverse to saying "that was a stupid question" BUT your's in not stupid so

2nd, correct, if it still stays on 3G then you are not covered by 4G. What happens on mine is the 3G bars are still next to the battery (or maybe its the 1XRTT bars) but either way a 4G logo appears that looks like the Wifi and the 3G word and arrows disappear.

Friday, I was able to get 4G here in Rochester NY when I was at lunch off Winton but could not get it in my office.

This morning, I am getting 1-2 bars on 4G (4G lit + 1 of the lines above 4G) from inside my office. I was able to get 5.9Mbps down and 1.0Mbps up from the center of my office building.

Picking up 4g in most of the Nashville and Franklin Tennessee area. Ran the speedtest app a whole lot, 4g isn't messing around!
