What guide and files did you do this with? Just starting out with rooting and such. I see a lot of guides with a lot of different version numbers and dates etc. Is there a good current guide that tells you step by step how to take a phone out of the box and updated it, and also then how to undo what you did so you can get the OTA update when it comes out?

Yup unlocking and rooting and flashing a 4.0.4 rom will end your dependence of waiting for vzw to push the update
