Why do I feel like this

Nexus owners = Charlie Brown

Verizon/Google = Lucy

The way Verizon has treated the Nexus it's like the phone itself is the love child of Rodney Dangerfield and Al Bundy.

I am not at all surprised that this didn't happen. Looks like I will have to root and unlock my phone to enjoy the phone at its' full capacity.:D

You dont have to root and unlock to installed the 4.0.4 IMM76 update.

I used instructions found here to update my BONE STOCK 4.0.2 GNex to the latest 4.0.4 leak.

When all is said and done, phone is not rooted or unlocked. As if the OTA was pushed right to the phone.

Yes I saw that but the way Verizon is sending us the updates, when jellybean gets released I doubt Verizon will even bother with the Nexus update.

If the OTA doesn't happen by the end of the week I think I will throw in the towel and go load a rom. A long weekend will be the perfect time.

i couldn't wait any longer and updated myself... i'm still getting grey signal bars once in awhile... did the update floating around come with the radios or do i update those separately?

Not getting my hopes up yet, but Phandroid and a few other sites are reporting that the Verizon galaxy nexus update is back on Google servers. They don't know if it will be pulled like last time or if it will be the build that gets pushed.

Verizon screws over every phone owner by never releasing updates. They almost force you to root because they are so incompetent

What guide and files did you do this with? Just starting out with rooting and such. I see a lot of guides with a lot of different version numbers and dates etc. Is there a good current guide that tells you step by step how to take a phone out of the box and updated it, and also then how to undo what you did so you can get the OTA update when it comes out?

Thanks,

Thanks,

If you root and flash, why would you need the OTA? You would already have the latest update...
