Re: So Chuffed with the Z2.

I agree completely. I've only had mine a few hours but it's a fantastic phone and I'm looking forward to using it.

That feel good feeling in that you know you have a fine Smartphone that is packed full of useful features is great.

Most Smartphones I have used the buzz wears of, but at nearly 2weeks I still have that buzz, when I take a picture or listen to music on the noise cancelling headphones.

Enjoy mate the Z2 is a cracker :-)

Re: So Chuffed with the Z2.

I completely agree the beauty is, I said this many times. The Z2 is a mix of some of the best Super Phones out there.

I've owned and upgraded 27-29 (lost count, LOL) I owned pretty much all the flagships and like the other thread says the Z2 comes close to being a perfect super phone. OP, you're right about the buzz quickly wearing off I go through that with all my previous phones.

As I said in the other thread the only feature missing is the IR Blaster. 9.5/10.

"I'll put up color bars before I'll put you in front of our cameras. " - MacKenzie (The Newsroom, HBO)

Can you tell me if if would be getting the Noise Cancellling Buds or the normals ones?
Here's the description provided by my online retailer:

"Get the new Michael Jackson 's 'Xscape' via Sony Jive & Xperia Lounge + Free Sony Smartband (SWR-10) worth Rs.5990/- .+ Free Premium Case Worth Rs.2990/- .+ Free 6 months Xperia Accident Damage Cover. "
AND

In the Box: Start-up Guide, Sony Smartband (SWR-10), Premium Cover, Headset, Battery, Charger (with Detachable USB Cable), Handset

Because if I am not getting those, I would lean more towards the M8..
The Z2's multimedia suite attracts me!

I think you have answered your own question and no you won't be receiving the noise cancelling headphones.

But don't write the phone off based on that, you can purchase separately and they are not overly expensive.

You will enjoy the Z2 when it arrives and I would be shocked if you return it lol

Re: So Chuffed with the Z2.

Het, it gets better with use! Once you get familiar with its features it is such a brilliant phone. I have put the Google Experience Launcher on mine, tap to unlock, it so brilliant. I had BlinkFeed on it for a while but it suddenly stopped working - I think HTC perhaps barred it? Not sure, but it wont work now. HTC are releasing it for all android phones soon anyway.

Great battery life, amazing screen and colour, stunning sound and earphones, amazing camera, and I was watching Quadrophenia in HD on it in the bath the other day! Can't really think of any faults so far!

Like myself I would struggle to find 3 faults Tbh and that is great, well done Sony for the Z2 :-).

I also really like the design and the fact it is one that only Sony puts out there :-)

Re: Magnetic Usb Charger Cable.

No more opening the flap to charge, it works and well.

The Magnet is not very strong but with the Z2 I get through a whole day and only charge overnight.

So it suites my needs.

Hello thanks for posting this, I have a few questions if you don't mind. How does it work / where does it go on the phone? Where did you get it? And how much did it cost? Thank you.

Hello no I don't mind...

1)The Charger attaches to the pogo pins on the left had side of the Z2.

2)It Charges the Z2 without the need to open the flaps lol

3)I bought it from Amazon UK but I'm sure it will be Available stateside.

4)It was cheap you do get slightly more expensive ones that may have a stronger magnet. This one cost ?5 that would roughly be around the $10 mark.

Again your welcome :-)

re:

Hi All

Here's mine, few minutes before a shutdown:
2014-05-19 09.04.09.jpg

All energy savings are ON (Restricted performance is OFF). I like those modes though. They are not annoying, like those I tried earlier with a variety of phones and applications. In case of Z2, when you need to use your phone, all important features are available regardless of a battery status. Here my favorite is STAMINA mode, as it does not allow applications to go online when the screen is OFF. Thus it prevents me from being disturbed by a vast number of notification sounds - those come only when I do something with the phone.

...No any games, almost no videos. Mostly - reading RSS, some Internet surfing, taking pictures, life logging (SmartBand was connected almost all time, except when I sometimes was out of range), outdoor activities with GPS ON (logged with Endomondo), some social networking, etc. BTW,189 applications are installed, many updated during this time.

Well, I like the battery life very much.

To compare: S4 with a smaller number of applications, and a similar style of use, but without any SmartBand connected and a use of GPS, had to be charged every day.

Re: Some Z2 photos :-)

I've been getting some really good photos with my Z2, but this weekend got a random stinker in broad daylight. I don't know why, but it came out with tons of muddy artifacts. I hope it was just an aberration. 2014-05-18 12.54.39.jpg

1tb of Nand flash

This might be overkill or perhaps not with 4k recording this will be a great thing.

What do you think?

interesting article. Would be nice to see something bigger as a standard now.
