$50 Google Play credit?

Still no email. Anybody know how or who I should contact to check on my credit status?
 
I spoke with a fi rep via chat today and they say "The promotional coupon emails are delayed. We are working diligently to ensure all qualified customers receive their coupon credit emails in a timely manner."

I hope it's soon as I would like to get a case for my new 5x!

FYI, you can't use Google Play to purchase hardware items. This was my first thought initially as well, but Google Play is only available as payment method for digital items
 
I spoke with a rep who told me that Google Play Music subscriptions are eligible so yes, the $50 can be used to pay towards your subscription. If you have any google balance right now (well, if it's at least enough to cover a month), you can already use that towards your subscription with the dropdown box it has on the payment screen.

Really? I have a subscription to the All Access Music, and they told me that Google Play isn't available to pay with since they have to be guaranteed to get payment each month, and a Google Play balance could be insufficient to pay for the monthly subscription fee. Unless this is a new process?
 
Ordered 5X Sunday night; got the email with credit code Sunday night. Not sure if that's the correct use of a semicolon though.
 
You have to have a credit card on file but for me it takes from my Google play credit first when I have some available.

Yeah, its like dpham00 said, you need to have a CC on file but once you do, you have the option to pay via your play balance.
 
So I called google today as I haven't received my credit yet. Woman on the phone said they are experiencing delay and couldn't give a specific time of when I would get the code but I do qualify. I reminded her that the fine print mentioned that you had to add the code to your account by the end of the year so hopefully those of us who haven't received will get it by then. She didn't instill a lot of confidence but said she would elevate my concern to a higher manager... Whatever that means.
 
Having just gotten my code / phone, I bet there's some rule that is basically the following:
If the code is used & Device is returned, then refund phone price (minus) $50

I can't find any literature on this, I guess i'm just cynical.
Would love to hear of someone asking a Google rep this question.
 
So I have since called google and contacted via Twitter. Both responses received were that they are aware of the problem and will send it out ASAP. Whatever that means. I'm about 2 weeks in of using my device.
 
I was offered the Case Credit afer I ordered my 6P on 10/29 when purchased through Fi.

I then canceled that order and bought the 5X through the Google Store and wasn't offered any credit.

After an online chat yesterday I was told the offer ended on 10/25 (?) And after the agent checked he emailed me saying they "ran out"... HTH do you run out of credits? I'm guessing he meant cases.
 
Well I finally got a code for my credit through playstore support. About 4 separate phone calls later... I'm sure if I didn't follow up I would have never received it.
