512 model sold out?

Verizon has been out of stock on the 512GB's since pre order.

Last year Samsung did the same thing with the Note 20 Ultra, 512GB went out of stock and never came back in.

When the Note 20 Ultra 512 GB never came back into stock, do you know if that was just for new orders or were the people who pre-ordered the 512 GB notified and given another option to replace their order? I'm wondering how long we'll be expected to wait for Samsung to fulfill our pre-order for the 512 GB S21 Ultra.. I can be patient as long as I know the phone will eventually be restocked for those who pre-ordered it..

Not sure. The Note 20 Ultra 512GB went out of stock, stayed out of stock and is still out of stock as of today.

I think this time best buy is only selling the 128 GB unlocked model. Amazon sells official US unlocked model 512 GB (ships and sold from Amazon listing) but they are out of stock as well. I think samsung.com is your best bet to get the 512 GB earliest when they come back in stock.

Thanks for heads up.

Nothing new from Samsung... For as long as I've been following Samsung on these forums... for as long as they have been making 512 GB available... they have always been spotty as far as availability. No explanation. They just make them in small batches when they feel the need.

If I had to guess they just don't want to commit to the cost of the higher capacity storage. Maybe fear of being stuck with too much inventory.

If sales, or sales discounts, are any indication then I wouldn't expect supply to get any better and to jump on them as soon as they come out if you want one. Latest article saying you are seeing discount of 22% on S21 model three weeks after launch??

Why get rid of the SD card slot when you don't want to make that many higher cap models?

I assume we are talking the ultra here. Best buy does sell unlocked 512 ultra. At least they do when they can get them, says sold out now.

I agree, the 512 models are always in short supply and lately when the stock runs out, they don't restock the 512's. You still see out of stock on the note 20's, S20's. I speak on those 2 because I had those and seen what they did. This creates a issue if you need to exchange for a new one for defect as the OP is finding out. It wouldn't surprise me if we don't see anymore 512 versions, if so, very few. Looks like it says sold out on best buy, gives option to notify when available, and with samsungs history on 512, that notification may never come.

When I had my screen break on my S20U 512 version, assurion could not get me a replacement anywhere, they ended up sending me a $1,500 check instead.
