5G on TMobile - New Note 20 Ultra - Slow Speed

Yeah something weird going on. Tested on Note 20 Ultra and iPhone 11 pro max. Tested multiple times thru out the day and was consistently lower speeds compared to iPhone 11 Pro max and Pixel 4 XL.

Below are the speeds of US Unlocked Note 20 Ultra on T-Mobile.

Below are the speeds on iPhone 11 Pro Max, similar results with Google store unlocked Pixel 4 XL.

I usually get between 7 and 20 in my house... this is good for me. I expect it to be much higher around the job. I'll check that on Monday.

Getting 40 Mbps on LTE+ which is kinda weird in my house ... a small improvement

I need to mention that no one here seems to know what 5G actually is. 5G on T-Mobile as the current rollout is 600mhz. It’s for propagation not speed which is why it looks like LTE.... because it basically is LTE. MmWave 5G like what Verizon has is 36,000Mhz or higher. It has a range of hundreds of of feet but it’s speed is capable of gigabits per second.

When you see T-Mobile using LTE it could be anything from 800mhz and up and using multiple bands for aggregation. T-Mobile 5G is strictly 600mhz.

You are correct in thinking that. That’s exactly how deployment should be. But I don’t know of any T-Mobile mmWave deployments officially.

I hear in NY has mmWave in some parts , but can't verify .

We have no 5G around me. In the UK it is very sparse.

You won't see a huge or any speed bumps with TMobiles 5g as the mare focusing on mid bands. These bands are going to provide similar speeds to 4g lte but offer longer range and better penetration.

I now get 5g st my home. On my s10+ I had to use wifi calling in my house but now I get 5g in all areas of the house even in areas that have wifi blind spots. For reference I live in a small country community that has notoriously bad signal from all providers.
