Settings -> Battery -> More (top right corner) -> Optimize Battery Usage -> Change Dropdown menu to All Apps to turn Doze on/off for specific apps.

Found it, thanks. Are there any that should be left off, like phone or knox, things like that?

Sent with my white Note5 with nonremovable back and no SDcard!

IMHO, the only apps you'd turn off, are those apps that you absolutely never ever want to miss an instant notification. ie.. Facebook isn't so important to me that I want to be bothered, so I wouldn't turn it off. But text messaging would be higher priority to me because chances are anybody texting me probably has a very good reason to do so, so I'd probably turn Doze off for my SMS app. Your mileage may vary, depending on your personal priorities.

As for the Phone app? That's up to you. Your phone will ring whether you have it on or off anyway. Doze would only silence the phone app's notifications (missed calls is the only one I can think of), and given that it would be preceded by your phone's ringing anyway, kinda moot.

Thanks, just trying to figure it out. Haven't had a phone w the doze style setting since my razr maxx had sleep mode.

Still looking at the settings, also be aware there are some settings that need reset after the update, like my do not disturb had to be reset to allow alarms and favorite contacts.

My battery optimization (doze) didn't stick? I clicked All Apps to enable it, them clicked back out, then back into battery optimization and it's disabled again. Any ideas? I tried this on two Note5's with the Marshmallow update.

Some (very few) apps can't be optimized... Guessing it is because they are needed to be at full force at all times but not 100% sure of that...

I know this is old, but I just figured it out. It's not a selection tab, but a view tab. It shows you which apps are not optimized and then switching shows you all of them. I switched my messages off and then went to the not optimized and switched it back, and it disappeared, so I assume that's how it works

Mine also doesn`t save the settings.
If I enable battery optimization and then I exit the screen, when I enter it again it not turned on.
Also during standby mode, the phone does not go in Doze mode at all.
Do you have any ideea ?
