6.16.215 ics update leak

For some odd reason I upgraded to this OS update..and now my root is all screwed up..how to fix this please?..would be appreciated..thank you!!

Downloaded and here is my experience so far.

Faster response when clicking an app or going to a different scree
LESS battery life; the past 2 days I have barely gotten 12 hours with very minimal use. I mean about 30 minutes of talk, 10 texts, 1 hour browsing
The phone shifts to 3g from 4g often
I get less signal strength and cant make calls in areas where I could with the previous build

Any suggestions?

I'm not rooted. There's a post at the beginning of this thread that sates how to do it it's called Matt's Droid Razr Utility 1.8.1. I haven't tried it yet kinda afraid of bricking my device, but others in this thread claim to have reverted back to .211 from .215

.211 is not gingerbang. it is still ICS. ive done it a few times due to bad ROMs.

I just flashed the leak, and now it seems buggier than before. I wiped the cache and that seems to be helping. If/when verizon releases the official update, will this prevent me now from getting that? If I do a factory reset will it bring me back to .211? Just wondering...new to all of this.

Thanks. I'm just gonna install a copy of windows on my mac that way when the OTA update comes out I can revert back to 211. Downgrading isn't hard right?

The best way back to. 211 is using matt's razr utility 1.81 option 1....... that will take you back to stock, unrooted "out of the box"......when the official OTA is released, i would suggest using matts utility and reverting back to stock. 211 then do the update, then go from there.......

After flashing this, i (like some others) have not yet noticed any vast improvement over. 211 ...... the battery life is only mildly better(under heavy use only got another hour) .... i am not getting full 4g in some areas that i am used to having it... however when i do have FULL 4g, it does seem a little snappier. 3g feels a bit faster..... i had some issues with root apps, right after flashing and rebooting, i was not being granted su rights..... my fix for that was to un-root..... restart.... re-root(using matts 1.8 utility)...... the menus and home screens seem a little laggy at times.... clearing cache seemed to help this a little....... IMO this will be a decent update/upgrade by the time it is released OTA, maybe these small bugs will be worked out then.... i will say though it is a very stable leak and i have not had any FC issues on anything thus far.......

Alright, I know some of you do not have an account with Droidrzr.com (Something you should do while your upgrading/downgrading the install) and get all the info there.

But here is my dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8qurhisqyf0sy0f/uLcLnNRLTD
There are the files for Downgrading from .214 to .211 and upgrading from .211 to .215. These are just files I downloaded from droidrzr.com. That is it. All these are thanks to droidian1441 over at droidrzr.com

To downgrade from .214 to .211 here is what I did
-Unroot with OTA rootkeeper
-Downloaded the file to downgrade
-Put the file on the root of my SD card
-Boot into android recovery and install from SD card
-Choose the file
-Let it downgrade (took about 5 minutes)
-Reboot and restored root
Now I'm back to .211

This is useful for those who are running Linux or Apple or cant install Matt's Utility.

I just used this method (although I was not rooted) to go from .214 to .211, then to .215. The entire process took less than 20 mins.

I was happy with .214, but I want to try .215.

This is my first post on this forum. I'm trying to go back to .211 but the extraction of zip files seems to be taking an unusual amount of time. Did anyone else experience this?

So I ran thru the program without doing a proper extraction and now my phone is not being recognized as a USB device on my comp. any suggestions.?

I'm getting an:

assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/GuidedTours.apk"
E:error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Any ideas?

EDIT:

wiped cache and got:

Installing update...
assert failed: mount("ext2" , "MTD" , "system" , "/system')
E:/Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted

Which zip files?...matts utility?.... I would try deleting and re-downloading...... what program are you using to extract? Maybe try a different archive program..... are you using windows or Linux?....... why would you run an incompletely extracted program?...... the good thing is with matts utility your phone can be fixed from the state its in :-)

There and back again.

After .215, screen timeout ceased to work properly. No noticeable change in battery life. Lightflow crashes is inoperable. Double tap home button keeps changing back to voice commands.

Uninstalled, will wait for official OTA update
