I just read that 235 is on the first QA server. I don't have cheesecake so I can't confirm it. Could someone check this out?
Thanks!!

There are several links to download 235 on other sites, but be aware that you CANNOT FXZ back to Gingerbread. The security has been changed and it is a one way road to ICS for now.

That's a shame you can't go back. I don't want to risk getting off the upgrade path. 232 its solid enough for me to wait for an OTA I guess.

I hadn't heard that yet. Thanks for the heads up! It was pretty tempting when I first heard about it though!

He seems to be correct saying that it isn't possible to get back once you go.

I haven't seen much of a reason for it, or how it's done, but the FXZ back seems to be blocked somehow. I'm bored and I will keep looking around and see what others find out and I will drop info here for us.

As someone else said... it is a final choice. It is a "If you go to .235, you will always be on .235 for ever"

Awww. :(

Well, it's not quite that black and white. But, before I get into that, please do NOT flash 235 without knowing how much risk there is....hint, a LOT. I'm not doing it.

The security has been updated to disallow flashing back to previous versions. I.E. the 902 FXZ will soft brick your phone. The RAZR and D4 had a way to go from leak to leak even though they were locked down like this, BUT, we aren't so lucky. The reason is that we'd need a 905 FXZ to do it. *NOT* a 902 FXZ. See the problem there? :)

Now, to say you're stuck on 235 FOREVER is probably a bit of a stretch. 2 things on that. If 235 is the OTA version, which is definitely possible, then you're good to go. Big risk though if you're wrong and it ends up not being the OTA. Second is if we get an ICS FXZ. The RAZR did. I can only hope we will.

Flash 235 at your own peril. You may or may not be stuck there, but, it's a big risk. 232 is far safer IMO. Use that and wait for the OTA to become final.

At this point, I wouldn't gamble on anything. I would expect an ICS FXZ, but I don't want to gamble on it.

From what we're seeing, there's no reason to update to 235 if you're on 232. There doesn't seem to be anything significantly changed other than some videos and of course the security to make sure you can't revert to a GB build. I'm sitting tight on 232. OTOH, John Galt is testing a method written by mattigroff to go from 235 to a newer leak if one comes out. But once on 235 you can NEVER go backwards.

Awww I'll miss using your script ;)

Just an Fyi for those that have an appetite for risk. If you choose to install 235+, you will never be able to go back to GB. But since we got the 905 FXZ last night, Mattigroff scripted us a solution that allows us to move forward. It is not without measurable risk. It involves soft bricking your phone temporarily by flashing a couple 905 images on top of 235, flashing the boot img from the update you're installing, and then installing the update. If this process fails at all, you're screwed because there is no fxz that works on 235+. That means even when the ota is out, until we get a new ics fxz, we are vulnerable to screwing up our phones. Use caution. I'm personally sticking with 232 for now...

Looks like I'm on 232 until OTA.

I'm not going to gamble on something that isn't that much different from what I have...

Exactly. And now with the 905 FXZ that I was able to get from daywalker04 we have an even easier time with my script once the OTA is out. But ONLY if we stay on 232. If you go to 235 you'll need to use Matt's script which is a bit scarier because there's no FXZ option if you bork your phone. It works, but, ONLY if you follow the EXACT directions.

It's really unfortunate that Motorola made a change to disallow reverting back to a Gingerbread build. The fact that it's now impossible to revert to any software build and that it's even possible to brick the phone represents a serious lapse in engineering judgement on their part.

I'm seriously considering picking up a Nexus now and will only buy them from here on out. If that means dropping Verizon and giving up their LTE network coverage when my contract is done, then so be it. I own my phone not them.

I'm getting an S3 developer phone as soon as Samsung releases the damn thing. I can no longer deal with locked bootloaders, either. I'm quite sure a new ICS FXZ of the OTA will be available a few weeks after it's pushed OTA, but, that's not comforting to those who need to FXZ before then and can't because they're on 235 or higher. Yea, it's enough of this nonsense IMO.
