6GB of RAM vs 8GB of RAM

If it needs 8GB of RAM to operate smoothly the software needs to be tweaked. The A11 Bionic with 3GB of RAM still smokes the Note 9. The answer isn't more RAM, it's better code.

I suspect the 8 GB of RAM is intended for those who may choose to use DEX as a laptop replacement on the go. In a laptop/desktop scenario, 8 GB is basically the minimum. And Samsung still sucks at resource management, treating it much more like Windows than Android - so that is part of it, for sure. Better software cures the issue for the phone side of things.

Since when has keeping a phone for a year considered 'a long time' ... jesus you must love giving money away if you do that :D

Where can I see this comparison?

To some degree this is true, but it's also true that a phone like a Note is going to be more RAM intensive due to the sheer volume of features and capabilities. If the answer was strictly "better code" new laptops would still be running on 2gb of RAM.

Sorta... Laptops, with the Exception of Linux and Chromebooks, use RAM very differently than Android. On those devices unused RAM is a good thing.

Correct, but my point is that the statement "the answer isn't more RAM it's better code" is not entirely accurate

No it doesn't. The Note 9 has killed the A11 in all tests in real world usage comparisons. Only a benchmark it gets a better number on that is all.

To be honest , I always complain when Korea or other markets get a better version of our phones (more ram , more storage, etc...)
So now that I have a chance to get the real best phone in the market
I'm getting the 8gb ram
I would feel like a hypocrite if I go for the lesser phone

I would get it more for the storage than the RAM, but I'm talking with my money.

It's sad and this how I'm obsessed with phones. I know the 6GB is more than enough but It's went ahead and preordered the 8GB.
