Anyone found anything worthwhile yet? Obviously you won't have one on your phone yet... But anyone have a company they can trust that they're buying from? I'm a Spigen fan and it looks like they won't be doing anything for the 6P, which I think is a huge mistake. So now I'm not sure where to turn.

Thanks!

I'm not getting one. I always used screen protectors in the past, but I've been going without on my N4 for the past year and a half without problems, and the 6P is supposed to be even more scratch resistant, so I'm gonna just not bother. Are you looking for anything specific?

Anyone know which companies have committed to making a case and a tempered glass screen protector for the 6P? I want a rugged case to really protect this phone. I'm bummed that UAG isn't making one, but I hope Ballistic makes a Tough Jacket or Trident makes one.

I'm fine with a tempered glass or just a plain old skin. Doesn't matter to me. I just really like the thought of having some protection for it.

I haven't seen any company that hasn't released one already make any commitment.

personally, I'm not worried about a screen protector. the glass on these phones have come a long way the past few years and covering it up often hinders performance and looks IMO.

I'll be waiting for something slim from spigen, and I'm the meantime I'll just hope I don't drop it!

It's really just for my peace of mind. And I've used them so long that I don't mind them. But I'd rather be safe than sorry. Sucks that it looks like Spigen won't be making them.

If anyone sees anything good, please post it here.

I wouldn't assume spigen isn't making one. their CSRs won't know what's in production, so they'll find out when we do. I can't remember though, if in the past with the Nexus phones if they announced it before they started shipping. I'll also be bummed if I can't get one. unless I find something comparable, I'll just go without a case. got the insurance anyway and a backup phone so if it cracks so be it.

Perhaps a bit OT, but I just wanted to comment to folks that don't think they need a screen protector on the Gorilla Glass 4 screen.

My reason for using a screen protector on my devices has almost nothing to do with scratching the screen. It has everything to do with preserving the oleophobic coating on the glass.

I use the swype-style gesture typing option on the Google keyboard, and without a screen protector, I have "polished off" the coating within a few months on previous devices. This leaves an annoying smeared glare on the screen.

I've tried several of those oleophobic restoration products with limited success, so I prefer to use a thin tempered glass screen protector and replace it once I've rubbed off the coating.

Which phone was this on? I've had a naked Note 4 since it launched, and I swipe as well. Still looks brand new. In fact I've been so impressed with it that I looked for the gorilla glass 4 on the spec list of the 6P before I ordered one. You might have an isolated case...

going naked. nexus protect is close to "break even" (no pun intended) on two cases and screen protectors in the next 2 years

I've had this problem as well, specifically on the HTC M7 and M8. I'm sure newer phones are probably better, but I still use some form of a screen protector for this very purpose.

I really really hope that the screen on this phone is perfectly flat as opposed to the screen on last year's Nexus 6. Because the edges were polished to a curve, it was never possible to find a tempered glass protector that covered the entire screen, leaving an annoying gap at the edges.

It's probably a little early to find screen protectors yet. Since the phone hasn't released, I would give it until toward the end of the month before manufacturers start releasing them. And even then, I might wait a while until I start seeing reviews for what's released.

I ordered Supershieldz HD clear off eBay. 6 pack for $4.99. Should hold me over till a quality tempered glass one comes out. I big benefit with the Nexus 6p seems to be a flat screen display, no more halo effect. ;-)

I've tried various screen protectors for my GS4 and Note 4. They work but I much prefer the screen without one. Screen protectors tend to be fingerprint and dirt magnets. I can never seem to keep them clean. They are also more difficult to clean than the screen.

Did you ever use tempered glass? Good tempered glass tends to fair better than the regular screen even. I have a Skinomi tech glass on my G3 and I wouldn't go back to the regular screen for anything.

How does one choose a good TGSP, though? I see plenty on Amazon for the 6P, but don't know which is best.
