6P Screen Protector

How does one choose a good TGSP, though? I see plenty on Amazon for the 6P, but don't know which is best.

Word of mouth or experimentation. Can't tell how good the coating is on the glass without trying it. Zero Lemon has been another good brand for me but they were late to the G3.

Just ordered an Orzly TGSP off Amazon for $14.99 and free shipping. It'll be in stock November 15th.

FYI, Spigen has cases and screen protectors for the 6P up for sale now. Not shipping until Nov. 6th, but I went ahead and picked a couple up from their eBay Store.

Let me know if the protectors go edge to edge when the phone comes out. I'm annoyed by 2D Glass that requires perfect alignment and even 1mm off causes a Halo effect. :(

Xtremeguard has screen protectors available now for the 6P, and has a TGSP coming as well. I had already ordered an Orzly TGSP, but I also went ahead and ordered two of Xtremeguard's full body protection kits to keep as a backup. They cost $12.99 each. You also have other options to choose from.

Tip: use coupon code Power91 to get 91% off your order, or Summer80 to get 80% off. I used the first coupon code, so my initial order of $25+ was reduced to $2.34. Not bad, I'd say.

I ordered one as well, which like the earlier poster said shipped out today.

This is the only brand of tempered glass protectors I've ever purchased. Have had one on my LG G4, Nexus 6 and soon my 6P.

Via the Nexus 6 and new AC app

My SuperShieldz Tempered Glass came in today. Here are some photos of the packaging and what came in the box.

There's no "wings" to assist with placement on this protector like Zagg does with their invisibleshield, however it looks clear and uses an adhesive on the back instead of requiring a wet placement which is nice. It has cutouts for the speakers which is what I would prefer however its going to mean trying really really hard to get that perfect placement.

This screen protector will work with the Verus High Pro Sheild case without overlapping the lip, it does NOT look like it is going to completely cover the front of the device. Im judging this by the fact that I put the tempered glass on top of the verus case to see if there would be any overlapping and there wasnt, the glass slid into the inside of the case with no issues.

I ordered this one too and received it yesterday. It's missing the cutout for the camera and proximity sensor so I'm hoping that won't be too much of an issue once my 6P is delivered.

One thing i noticed is that a few reviews for 5X tempered glass screen protectors say they interfere with the proximity sensor which results in the screen not turning on/off correctly during a call (Spigen, specifically). Hopefully that won't be the case here.

Yes that would be irritating. Only time will tell I suppose!

You are assuming he is using it on the phone. I can think of many good uses for a 0.2 mm thick pane of glass apart from the phone.

Careful, they break *very* easily. Compared to the strength of gorilla glass 4, tempered glass screen protectors readily shatter. I don't think they offer any shatter protection at all and from what i've seen in reviews of gorilla glass 4, i doubt the tempered glass hardness is helpful either:

And you'll see there's good reason they don't use tempered glass on smartphones. It's just too brittle.

That said, you could still use a screen protector to reduce glare (such as a polarized screen protector). I use one for my glass laptop screen and it makes a world of difference -- instead of looking at reflections when i use it, i'm looking at the display. I also put one on my nexus 5 and found it helpful when in bright sunlight.

That Gorilla Glass example you have above was eye opening, thanks for sharing!

I use tempered glass protectors mainly for the scratch resistance and clarity. Not to mention the feel as well. I know they arent as tough as the gorilla glass but if a scratch were to occur all I have to do is replace the tempered glass. The GG4 looks pretty hardcore on toughness and scratch resistance though. Maybe... just maybe if the tempered glass I already purchased affects the proximity sensor I will go without a protector on this phone. Although that is still a scary thought to me :)

Same reason I use Tempered Glass.
