6X not updating to Nougat...

Apple released that auto-correct fix last week, and I updated all of our iDevices immediately. Just this morning, on one of my health & fitness forums, I encountered someone who still hadn't updated. Granted, that's not a security update and Apple explicitly identifies security updates as such. Regardless, it was hard to believe she hadn't already updated with all the publicity around that issue.

Sure it is harder to believe for people in the forums.

That is unfortunately true. Most people I know not only don't care about updates but don't want to get them.

Exactly! I encounter a lot of people who say things like, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." How do we convince such people that a security issue effectively breaks your phone and leaves your privacy, your finances, etc. at risk?

You don't. People think it won't happen to them. Until it does. Then they will complain about the phone, neglecting to mention that they never updated it.

If anyone here has information about this firmware version:
BLN-L24C567B002-log
I would appreciate it.
Looks like there is no 6X firmware update that's compatible with this.
The phone shows it's on EMUI 2.0
HiSuite reports the phone is running Android 6.0

About ready to do my own version of the "Jerryrig" test then get the wife an iPhone7
Lol...

Make sure you make a video!

For people like us, that's absolutely true. I suspect the majority - that is, the folks who never read blogs like Android Central or iMore - couldn't care less about updates.
This

Everyone here wants monthly updates cause we are way more into phones than the average people out there

Yup. I don't care too much about updates myself. Until I get hit, I'm currently fine the way things are

I use my phone (currently an iPhone 8 Plus) to pay bills, shop online, etc., so I need to be assured of its security.
Makes sense. If that's your primary concern then get either the iPhone or the Pixel
