Is there a way to go into root explorer and change back the htc screen

Do u mean boot animation or splash the splash can be done right from the tool box and I can give u a link to the boot animation if u need it

Just to confirm:
1. after rooting you installed super user
2. you installed shootme and confirm that it works
3. you updated clockwork from the rom manager start screen

If all those are a yes then you will need someone with more experience help you out.

Superuser was installed by default with the auto root, clockwork is updated and i used busybox to confirm that it works and it says it is rooted. I also downloaded root checker and it verified it as well. i can try and download a rom from rom manager to see if it works or not if that would help.

Thing is this I'm on a different rom and trying to change it back without having to re-flash bamf

Ok, I have also read that loading a ROM from rom manager is frowned upon.

I have had success by downloading the rom to my laptop, checking the MD5 hash tag and then moving the rom to a folder on my sd card. I will then use booting into recovery to wipe and install the rom from the sd card.

I got it to get to s-off. i will try both ways now and see if i can get it to work. i really appreciate all of the advice and assistance

I can't get the phone to boot into recovery mode. All I get is the phone with a red triangle and exclamation point.

all of the sudden after deleting and redownloading superuser, rom manager, and clockwork recovery it seems to be working.

OK make sure to do a nanadroid backup before u start flashing roms

woops miss read your post the radio has to be flashed in the hboot my bad

You can't flash pg05img files in recovery. You have to do that in hboot. Shut the phone down, then hold volume down and power simultaneously until in hboot. The phone will find the pg05img file automatically.

You don't use clockworkmod to flash radios. Boot into hboot by first powering off fully, then hold down the power and volume down buttons at the same time. After flashing the radio be sure to delete the radio file from your sd card.

got it to work...thanks to everyone for the help. no complaints so far. phone definitely seems to run smoother than stock rom.
