Yes. A couple people have reported in these forums and XDA that they've called Google CS and asked for a refund and have been given it.

I just got off the phone with GS Rep and I ask for a refund on the shipping cost.($13.99) I was not rude but I was politely stern with the GS Rep. I expressed how I preorder my tablet on 6/27 while others for example preorder 8/10 recieve their tablet before me. Furthermore went to say I thought my situation was unfair and was not pleased. The GS Rep unfortunately could not give me a refund because it was not his department. He did however forward my request to another department that would look over my request. The GS Rep could not promise me my refund but that I should receive an email about my request for refund in the next 24hrs. I will tell you all how it goes.

Ordered 07/06 Charge hit my card yesterday around 5PM CST, still no e-mail for tracking informtaion. Is it a possibility for them to ship it and not have tracking info since its overnight?

I was hoping the same thing since my credit card was charged last night around 7pm eastern but no further information and no delivery yet...maybe one day.

I'm in shock. I ordered on the 17th, and its being delivered to me today! I didn't receive an e-mail with the tracking info though, I just thought for the hell of it to check my google wallet. and there it was. so looking forward to this. glad I had my curtains opened today

Yup. They charged me on July 18, I got my shipping email that night at almost mindnight.

Well - I got my tablet today and I must say first impression are that this is pretty freakin awesome!

I pre-ordered 7/4 - had heard nothing until it was 'refreshed' on my google play site, with the date july 18th yesterday.

Then I got a shipping notification in the middle of the night - was out for delivery around 5 something am. Waiting for me when I returned from work.

Hang in there everyone - you SHOULD have your device by tomorrow if you pre-ordered.

Just got off the phone with a rep from the Google play store. I ordered 07/06 and got a charge on my card but no shipping info. I basically said i wanted an update on my order, the rep nicely explained it was sent over to UPS with all my information and would be sent out before the UPS shipping site closes, which is at 7:30PM Pacific time. She also explained the remaining orders placed before July 11th will be shipped out tonight. I was a bit relieved but i was sure to ask what method they used when they selected who would receive these shipments first. Her reply was "I'm not sure, they were done in batches". That sealed the deal, i won't order directly from Google anymore. Bright side, my Nexus 7 should be delivered tomorrow along with those who have yet to receive their tablet and ordered before July 11th.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully, I will get mine tomorrow too. It would really sucka$$ to wait till monday. The guy I talked to said there is no guarantee that it will be tomorrow, monday is a possibility since UPS doesnt deliver saturday.

But I agree, not ordering from google anymore, and i honestly hope that their next few nexus devices are sold by multiple vendors instead of just them. I hope they will look at this debacle, and just hire a company like amazon to sell their product.

My card was charged today at around 3:30 pm EDT and the date changed on my Google Play page to 7/19. Pre-ordered on the afternoon of 6/28. No activity in the Google Wallet or shipping email yet, but I'm keeping up hope that I will see it delivered tomorrow. BTW - they charged me the full amount (N7 + case) so I'm hoping both items will be delivered at the same time.

Still not happy about the way the pre-orders were handled but at least there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. I hope the Google uses this experience to learn some lessons and make improvements in the future.

My wallet account just showed the tracking number for the order, it wasnt updated like 15 mins back. No email though. But it looks like they shipped around 4ish eastern time, didnt update the system till now. The item is already in Cali. Should sure be delivered tomorrow. I am sure everyone will get theirs.

Update: still haven't heard anything, so I'm cancelling because I just called staples and they received 6 lastnight 16g so I'm going there and buy it. Already told my bank to stop payment, waited for nothing, but I'll have it within minutes, maybe anyone else who pre-ordered can check locally and find one....good luck or hurry up and wait.
Upadate: the Nexus 7 is pretty sweet. Canceling my order wasn't hard, only because it hadn't started processing yet, so I would have probably waited another week. To those still waiting hope it arrives soon for ya. Still I would check locally.

I ordered a stand alone 8gb on July 4th. To this date my card has not been charged, no shipping number....nothing. I have been told twice that I would receive this on Friday!

Here's what I am going to do. When I get up in the morning and I have not been assigned a shipping number, I am going to call my card and stop payment authorization. I am then going straight to Amazonwireless and upgrade to a Galaxy Note.

Who knows, I may ask for a Nexus 7 for Christmas, but I will specify to my wife, that it cannot be ordered from Google Play. She will have to get it from a retailer. AND maybe all of the bugs will be worked out by Christmas.

At this point, I don't really care if I hear anything on shipping or not. I am completely disgusted with this whole thing.

I've been lurking in this thread for days, I figure I might as well chime in.

I ordered a 16gb standalone on the 11th. Have not been charged or received any shipping info. I do see that the date has been updated to July 19 in my transactions, but I don't think that will help me much.

I know I was one of the last preorders so I shouldn't be too upset, but when we hear of people ordering them yesterday and receiving them today, that's definitely unfair. And when they keep promising to have them shipped by a certain day, it's really disappointing to keep missing those deadlines.
