MyLollipop update story...
Verizon started pushing Lollipop onto my wifes S5 last night, everything went fine, two downloads, I guess one to prep the phone for Lollipop and then other for the real OS Lollipop download and upgrade....
Jump forward to this morning, my wife was on the way to work, she call me and tells me the phone crashed and rebooted, and now a lot of her apps are greyed out including WAZE, which she uses to help her out in traffic here in LA. I walked her through to use Google Maps and she was happy to get to work.
Jump to tonight, she comes home I check her S5 and the screen says SAFE MODE.... WTH?????... So I turn of the phone and start it again, and it starts fine, no problems... it asked me to update to use HD voice and I approved it and went on. rebooted the phone again as the software advised... So she went to make a call and the phone immediately would stop the call and the screen said CALL ENDED, tried all kinds of things to no avail.
So called Verizon Technical Support, they were on the phone with me for 1 1/2 hrs trying to troubleshoot, so still NO GO, so he advised me to do a Factory Reset.. so I did... When the phone rebooted it refused to recognize the SIM card, I had another SIM card, we tried that one after I gave them the number of the card. Same results..
Phone stuck at Unable to Activate the phone....
Got transferred to Level 2 Tech. Tried to troubleshoot, but since the phone would not activate, he couldn't do anything, except TRY to order a replacement phone....
Could not order the phone because a previous order for my EDGE change of phone from a NOTE 3 to a Motorola Droid Turbo, which I got over a week ago, its still in the system and could not place the replacement order till that one is cleared which cannot happen till tomorrow after 7am EST. So I was give a special number to call direct the tech level 2 support team to get things going...
We'll see if the Cellular Gods smile on me tomorrow morning....
So the moral of this story is "Be careful what you wish for" ... now I'm not too in a rush to get Lollipop on my Droid Trubo...
