Is there any way to get more from images when you are setting it up as wallpaper?
When I set it up as wallpaper it gets bigger and blurry, even in good quality images. I find it really disturbing and kinda freaks me out!

Get more? Like crop it so there is more showing? Well you hold the blue dots and stretch it out to increase size. Plus get nova launcher or apex (I think) and it would make the photo appear in portrait without scrolling and make it larger somehwat

Your device doesn't resize the image unless it's cropped. The image you are using is too large and can't be cropped to fit what you want. You need to reduce the image to a height no larger than 1280 pixels.

I have been using multiple live wallpaper editor and it just inserts the image without cropping so if you use high rez images they stay exactly as edited. But if the image extends outside of the supported screen it will be zoomed in.

You can also try Pic Speed wallpapers. Great app.

Thanks, I do have PicSpeed wallpaper but it doesn't offer the highest quality on images they look blurry too

Ya some are lower rez because they were optimized for older phones. You may need to get photoshop and start making and cropping your own. CS2 is available for free now. It would let you to manually do what you need. Google it for the download.

I think exactly the way it looks in preview is the way it should look on the homescreen, obviously it fits the screen so why does it have to over magnify everything?
