A few questions i need to know before i jump in

First off, Hello to everyone! I'm an FNG here if you cant tell. But i have been a mobile enthusiast for some time, just never cared enough about android until recently.

I bought an iPhone 4, and love it. I'd never give it up. However, i do like the currently state of Android. Its matured, and i like where its going.

So i want to tinker.I was going to buy a N1, but honestly, its an antique by now as far as devices go, but the price doesnt reflect its age.

So i saw the Captivate, and it really perked an eyebrow for me...

Only few question i have could be VERY hard to answer, so if i need to wait, its ok. But i'll ask anyway.

1) Is HSUPA confirmed? because i HAVE to have that. Once you have it, you cant go back.

2) Never owned a Samsung before. What kind of reception do these get?

3) Is voice quality good?

4) And most importantly.....Will i be able to load a "vanilla" rom? I dont want or need all the crap it will come with.

5) Expanding on the previous question....are these as customizable or "hackable" as HTC's?
