A little concerned...

Hey guys a I am a bit concerned because I have noticed some problems with my nexus 7. Maybe you can help me out. Problems:

GPS will not find my location unless driving down the road. My RAZR maxx finds location just fine.

GTA III will not work in landscape mode. It will work (but not completely correct) in portrait. In landscape there are no bottons on the screen.

Temple Run does not operate correctly. It lags about once every 7 seconds consistently.

All other apps and device features seem to work. Does anyone else have these problems?

I suspect the GPS is going to take longer to find a lock simply because it cannot, by definition, use cell tower triangulation to assist with the initial fix. However, it should be able to get a pretty quick lock if you pass near a known WiFi hotspot.

It's also possible that the GPS antenna in the Nexus7 budget-built tablet isn't as good as the one in your RAZR Maxx premium smartphone. I know my house (metal roof) completely defeats any GPS lock for my HTC Thunderbolt except in a few specific spots in the house, but my wife's Galaxy S2 can occasionally get a fix. My old Magellan Explorer (dedicated GPS unit from over ten years ago) is completely useless even outside right next to the house or under light tree cover.
