A Question/opinion On the 3.1 Update Rollout

From looking at all the various locations of people saying they recived the 3.1 update from Acer I think the rollout has more to due with the build date / serial number, than location, I'm in FL and have a A500 built in June 2011, and have not even recieved the maintainence update still on build Acer_A500_1.104.02_COM_GEN1 Just wondering if this might be a correct assumption. Any Thoughts?

I bought my Iconia tab last Saturday. I received the update yesterday. I am in Southern California.

I can post the build later today if you'd like. Not sure what the hold up is for you, are you checking manually?

Yes I check it before I leave for work and each night, ( Not Rooted Stock A500 )

Still nothing for me either in Canada, just got it Saturday as well. Not sure if it came with the maintenance update or not, but I haven't had any updates found yet.

Does anybody know how ti use the 3.1 file and update it manually? I just got a new A500 today and would like it updated BEFORE I start personalizing it. If I can do it with the fie provided I may not have to wait till the Acer gods deem me worthy

On the back of the box there is a white sticker with the model number, Serial number, ect.. on it will have a date (month and year..ie... May 2011, June 2011)

The update has been put on hold by Acer.No reason as of yet but I think there is a lot of problems with this update. I'm waiting to update till I hear more.

i got my update thursday manual check south carolinia and have had no problems with it.
the only problems i heard about is it almost take an act of god to get it in the first place!!! what have you heard??

Any news on if and when acer is continuing the 3.1 updates? I bought mine because they were rolling out 3.1 - kinda feel screwed right now. Don't get me wrong . I love the tab but I would love it more with honeycomb 3.1.

Just to update I have posted in another thread about the update and my difficulties. I exchanged my iconia at Costco and I deduced some interesting things.

I had to wait 3 days before I even got the 2 service updates that come before 3.1.

Still haven't gotten 3.1

Believe that I had to register with acer before the updates since I didn't get it to update before i registered.

I believe that the update is tiered to run based on location as well as serial and build.

Just my observations. YMMV
