I am rebuilding the Settings by hand. I will incorporate the Brick fix in a later build as it is stalling the production of the ROM. I wanted to let you guys know what is going on and assure you that I am still working on this. (Me and Shinkenred are running the Beta build with less problems! I have one of the latest iLauncher's installed; iLauncher's dev's really have been pushing it and it looks good!)

For future (English) updates, I will be updating the Chinese in JOYClock, Calender, and more. I've got to find out what APK is associated with the lock-screen because there is a dirty date typing error on there that is bugging me... Haha.. see what I did there? .... Seriously though.. I am working on this ROM.. Don't give up just yet. Tons of people like and support this ROM and I am not going to let it end just because I don't know (yet) how to fix something.

EDIT - Whoop! I just googled it and it turns out that it is framework-res.apk... I know what that is! Haha.

That should be a simple yet awesome fix.

The update notification portion of the Market is never always accurate, so I don't worry about it. There are apps out there to help with the update process.

I have 2.1.7.3. 2.1.11 is the latest according to Market, but 2.1.11 may be HIGHER than 2.1.73. I love 2.1.7.3 better than the last one I had.

Yeah, I think the Bobzhome one was for overclocking (Mine is overclocked, but it may have got wasted back when I ran CAI; the speed was there for a week and it went back to being slow as crap). All the other kernels I've seen are all specifically for ZVJ (the real Gingerbread), and they're stated as being incompatible with CM7. Which sucks, because there has gotta be a way to bring some SPEED to this beast. Especially with games, certain ones are a real nightmare to play!!

Speaking of games, I'm not sure if this is a side effect of custom ROMs or if it's just something odd: whenever I have music playing, games seem to either freeze up ("[game] is not responding") or crash outright ("Unfortunately, [game] has stopped") a LOT. I wonder what causes that to happen. And I've noticed this with both Joylicious as well as Cold As Ice...(though I think ICS just doesn't like gaming at all; that happened WAY more often with CAI than it has here with Joylicious, lol...)

Random thought: Am I the only one who despises how GB handles the cropping process for setting your own wallpaper!? (So there's that...and the video player...two things I like better in ICS.)

I barely had time to squeeze in this post. As I told shinkenred, I have to practice to march at a football game tomorrow and have to start practicing at 9 PM. I am still around, and I took an hour to rewrite the code for settings. Shinkenred has the announcment for the thread that I gave him witch is longer. If you see Shinkenred post something that I told him to say, It's true.

The long version of what he said, as he told me:

Please post in the thread and let everyone know (in the thread) that I am rewriting the code for settings. I started it today. I have a football game to march at tomorrow, so I will finish as soon as I can Saturday, make it flashable, test it on my device for errors and spelling (I like to capitalize somethings that shouldn't be) and then hand it over to you for approval. Once you say it is good, I will zip it up and release it as either a patch (simpler, faster, smaller size) or a release (better for some N00BS)..

Please just let them know that I am still around doing this ROM and that I writing the code. I have to start practicing at 9 PM CST so, I don't have time tonight to go let them know because I have to practice for the game tomorrow, so thanks.

Dang this stupid apktool!!! I rewrote the strings.xml, EOL conversion set to UNIX like it is supposed to be, set encoding to the right settings and apktool won't compile. Back to editing the Beta version (again)...

I just updated the thread. I am still working on the Settings, I couldn't get apktool to compile it, but I got the World Clock in JoyClock edited. I fixed the Chinese and checked for accuracy. The World Clock is accurate and it is in full English.

It is a flashable zip. Download, place on SD, reboot to recovery, mount system, and flash with Signature Verification OFF.

I have a question for Drew, I learned how to decompile APKs and edit the files IN it. I do not know how to REMOVE sub menus from Settings. Can you help? Experienced Developers, how do you remove menus from settings?

Technically both! It's in the layout XML. Now you have to be VERY VERY careful when editing things in Settings.apk, it can be super screwy.

DEVELOPERS, PLEASE READ THIS. AFTER ENDLESS GOOGLE SEARCHES AND FORUM POSTS, I HAVE FOUND NOTHING.

Developers, I know you are super busy, but do you mind helping me with somethings? I can't get any replies to the thread I opened and Google turned me upside down and backwards about this..

I can't seem to remove the SIM Settings and Master Clear from Settings. I want to move some menus to other windows, but I don't know how do it. I did what thekraven said to do about checking a certain XML file called "privacy-settings" and it wasn't there. It is under About Phone > Master Clear (RESET)

Can you please turn me to the resources necessary for figuring out how to remove menus and switch them around?

As soon as I get this figured out, I will need some help getting this compiled for the first time on my own. I have not done Settings like this before, so It is my first time. Lots of you guys started as Themers and I am trying to work my way up, but I don't have the resources to do so, so maybe you can lead me to them?

As for my Joylicious Developers, I will be working on the other APKs in the meantime. I promise: As soon as I can get Settings like I want it, Grammar Error Free, Brick Possibility Gone, SIM Settings Gone, I WILL put out another build, until then, please use the patches.
