A yearly trend - Note 20 Ultra

I currently own an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and have owned it for about a year or so.
Not sure why exactly, but, every year, around this time of the year, when a new iPhone is being/has been announced, I start the search for a new Samsung device.

It is almost like a yearly itch, that never goes away. The problem that has happened in the past, is that I switch to the 'latest' Samsung device, and within 14 days, I end up returning it, for one reason or another.

Well, here we are again, the itch has begun. After all, the Samsung Note 20 Ultra, does look nice...!

The Note 20 Ultra IS a most wonderful phone but then again, I'm loving my new Z Fold 2! Both are great. I do love an S-Pen though. I'm bored with iPhones (simply hate, the notches) & ios too. I pretty much with many Apple products too. Even my jailbroken ios devices are boring. My Android setup is just perfect for me.

The Note 20 Ultra is a strong, strong...strong device... but iOS, as you know, is not just the iPhone, its the ecosystem and all that. That is, understandably, a strong pull for a great many. I realized I'd rather have the Samsung ecosystem along with their great hardware...perhaps you're ready?

Definitely an iphone killer this year the note is a flawless device that surpasses the iPhone in each and every way!!

I recently watched a YouTube video of flossy's and he was talking about if a person should upgrade from the N10 Plus to a N20 Ultra and he said No unless your a "phone guy" like he is.

Well that's probably what I / we are ! Lol.

I didn't need a new phone I wanted one and yes even though I don't have the urge to buy an iPhone I'll still take a peek at them.

I am in the same boat as you, this time every year I get the itch switch away. I always seem to just return to the iphone. I am only a few days into using the note 20 ultra, and so far this thing has yet to fail any task I have thrown it. I am currently typing this using a portable monitor with bluetooth keyboard and mouse and dex. I also have apple music open and playing as well as other apps like messages. This thing is screaming along with out a single issue. I had sms worries with sending and recieving them like in the past. So far there hasnt been a single issue with any of that. The only frustrating thing is that all my accounts passwords are saved on my iphone and those dont transfer over. While I am trying my best to not pick up my iphone its really hard when I need my account information.

I have used iPhones and android. The first phone I desired fully was the Pixel 2xl and to date I still love that phone even though I sold mine to a friend recently. I then really desired the S10 line from Samsung but was put off by previous experience with Samsung that I didn't enjoy. In the end, after being disappointed by the Pixel 4xl (now my husband's phone and he loves it) I bought a S10+ in January for half its retail price brand new. I am in love with this phone. The recent updates just keep it feeling fresh and new. I love Dex, I love the Good Lock apps and customisation is endless. I have never been happier with a phone. Yet I also recently bought an iPhone 7 cos ios 14 and widgets.... but it is a secondary phone and kept in case one of our smartphones needs fixing. I find ios boring for everyday use. And although ios apps used to be better than their android counterparts, apps like Spark and amazon shopping just work better on android now.

I still prefer an ipad over an android tablet. But I prefer the android ecosystem overall. Especially on phones.

I currently have the note 20 Ultra and am iphone 11 pro max and I'm struggling lol. I can't bring myself to carry two phones. I also have the watches and earbuds to go along with each. Every time I switch to one I miss the other for different reasons. The struggle is real.

I couldn’t have said that any better... exactly my issue. My note 20 ultra is amazing and so is my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both in different ways. I have also have the beans for the note 2 and the AirPods Pro for my iPhone lol. Such a waste of money !!

Definitely. I typed that response on my note and now this one on my iPhone. I don't even last a full day with a single phone lol.

Question for you... the iPhone is 4g and the Samsung is 5g. It’s a pain because I have 2 different SIM cards and Verizon told me I couldn’t swap because he 5g sim won’t work in the iPhone and the iPhone sim won’t work in the note?? (I always swapped before) now I have to call or visit Verizon every time I want to switch phones ?
Do you swap sims? 5g is no where near my area so it’s useless to me.

I use the same Sim for both phones. I don't have 5g anywhere near me either. I also bought the note unlocked but the same Sim works great on both phones.

So do you use the 4gLTE sim in both??
I probably couldn’t use the 5g sim in my iPhone?

I will be getting the new iPhone in a few weeks

Yup sorry I should've mentioned that before, my apologies. I use the Sim card that came with my iPhone. Oh I'll definitely be getting the new iPhone.

I swap SIMs between iphone and my Samsung 5G phone but it is not a special 5G SIM. I was not aware that there is a different SIM for 5G for Verizon. I'm not paying for 5G at the moment so I really haven't looked into it but it was my understanding that I didn't need a special Sim unless you know something different.
