The latest and greatest, most recent, most stable version is superclean 2.9. Since you are coming from Eclair you will need to use the version that wipes. Good thing you already got your backup taken care of. Use the EB16SC20_DXC.tar file and follow the instructions exactly. I am also going to be stepping out for about 3 hours. Already running late to go to a friends house to hang with the guys and watch UFC. Like Sheepdog I will check in when I get back. Normally I would be checking the forums from my phone, but I haven't seen some of these guys in a while, so I will be taking a break from the forums for a few hours.

lol most of us are running super clean....adry (our super dev) has got rid of the bloatware. It is very "clean" and results in a very responsive phone.

Give a little time to settle in then you can start to look into themes, changing boot animations and other cool stuff. Warning this stuff is addicting tho. Most of us flash all kinna stuff every day

I've never used Mybackup. Try looking for a restore function.
You can redownload ur apps in the market and your paid apps should be synched to your gmail account.

As for what else to do...uh what do you want to do? lol

The thing is... it's just like I'm installing them for the first time...
All my prefs are gone (as far as I can tell...)

And my kids are gonna kill me: re: angry birds haha!

Didn't find a restore function in MyBackup?...like restore apps with data? The data part is what is your game save data.
Try getting Titanium backup from the market...it does complete data backups. Since ur rooted also pickup Root Explorer...a must have for root..lets you move/delete/rename files
If you want to get into themes an stuff....just holler and folks will help out

You'll have to redownload the app from the market. The app recognizes all the files it packed up, and can put them back properly. Just the APK file is like a fresh install since none of the data files the APK generates are present.

In adrynalynes thread for SC there are patches for the stock apps. He replaced a lot of them with the original android ones. I like the clock and music player from touchwiz better so I put them back.

I also was considering the root. My concerns, paid for a protection plan from bestbuy, how do I put it back to original settings when necessary, will they void my warranty. How will this affect froyo if and when it is finally released.
