About to take the Froyo plunge...

Okay, then it says "successfully exploited", installing perm root files...

then 6 "error: device not found" messages.

THEN it says restarting, but it never does.

finally, one more device not found error and then complete.

:(

Did you download the sanding drivers? I believe that is the step I didn't do properly in the beginning and it wasn't finding my phone.

Maybe you could try rebooting your phone and computer, it took me a couple tries and reboots to get it to work on my phone

Thank you! :) Thank you!!
(I'm a ma'am by the way haha) Okay, so that thread is outdated. Gotcha!

I'm headed to your thread.

Will post my success shortly!!

Sorry :) lol

make sure to read and follow what it says on the command prompts before hitting continue

ummm... who wants to walk me through this backup?
I have mybackup pro. I'm confused.

Should be an option to back up all user apps and system data or something like that. Click it, when you restore select the things you want to restore, and skip most of the system files, my current method (which brings dissention, please speak up anyone who has a differing opinion so we cover the bases) is to restore my system storage files such as

SMS storage
Calendar storage
Dialer storage
etc,

and all missing apps and data, but I use titanium backup so it may be a little different with my backup pro. Sharky where are you?

Well, what I did (I'm very very impatient!) is just backed up everything. I'm currently backing up apps and photos.
The apk/data language is not something I understand.

But I AM UBERjampot now! haha (ok, feeling a little less uber with my neediness)

I guess taking a chance by backing it all up is what was best for me, right?
Better safe than sorry! :)

so... since everything is backing up to my sd card, does this mean it's safe and secure now?

LOL, backing everything up "Too much" is pretty hard to do. Copy the back up folder to your computer for safe keeping if you're so inclined. Restoring some system files can cause complications, but I've never encountered them. Apparently it's mostly with non-touchwiz based roms. Super clean is pretty safe for apps and data restores but it's best to develop good habits first.

okay.

I am rooted. Yay, superuser me!!
I am fully backed up.
Backup files are happily copied to my computer for safekeeping.

I have clicked the froyo link from page one and I am now about to do this.

Yay! :)

Oh gosh.
What flaver do I want?
This isn't like picking out a new pair of shoes.

It's much harder!

K. I'm going out for a bit, but i'll be back in 2.5 to 3 hours-ish. I'll try to check in on you soon if I can. If you run into any trouble hang tight, and don't panic, you'll be fine.
