Yes, those are red pepper flakes. I made some mild and some more spicier with both red and crushed peppercorns... I have a few friends that literally want me to make more so they'll buy it. Shocker indeed.

I love jerky and now that I figured this one out, I may never buy it again. I know what is going on mine vs store-bought. I guess I've found another niche in the kitchen. Homemade vs store is actually pretty good and quality seems to be better... Win Win!

Made a new recipe. You roast the potatoes first then add broth at the end. They were yummy and so tender with a hint of crunch!

Thank you so much. The funny thing about the picture is that I didn't try to make it look pretty. I just did a quick point and shoot scenario. It was actually in a serving bowl as well.
