Thank you for rescuing an older cat. Its unlikely they'd find a home in most rescues or shelters.

Re: Pets of the AC

I no longer have a pet, but we will be adopting a 10mo Doberman named King on Tuesday. Whoo :-) here's a picture of our last pet, Joey the GSD. She was a rescue that had been very abused. We unfortunately lost her after an unexpected seizure. She was 5 years old.

Good choice with the dobermans, brother regrettably had to give away his and loves the breed. Good choice the german sheperd, he or she is beautiful. He had two which were from a security company and the had basic security training but with work he couldn't run with them two hours a night because it souls be 9pm and night before he got relaxed. Poor bloke is broken about it, the breeder took them back saying he would only give it to a family who won't use it wrongly as its security trained. The female got 1500 And he gave the male to a good home for free. He didn't mind be 3.5k out of pocket as long as they went to good home which he believes they have. The breeder does a background check, compatibility test and you have to be on a massive waiting list for his pups. Mainly to filtering out wanting the digs for fighter purposes.

Personally I had a goldern retriever got put down due to a few battles with cancer, a jack Russell (at nanna's as we moved to an apartment :() and a cat which I dislike.

I'll attach pictures soon. Their really cute.

Thanks, he's such a sweety. They get a bad rap, but he is such a baby. He can be aggressive at times, but only to strangers, when they approach the house or the car. At the dog park or in the open, he will walk right up to you and shove his big ole head in your hands. We've never had a dog be such an integral part of our family. The shepherd hated men, and the huskie hated women. Both would hide out in their saftey spot no matter what we did (they were both rescues). King (our Doberman) absolutely has to be the center of attention, but we are ok with that. And he's so good with my son. I'm sorry to hear about your brother and your Goldie. Losing pets to death or rehoming is always sad :-(

Pets (had typo bests before) are always family. Its amazing how they become so protective of children which they grow up with, everyone fears that they will kill the child but i see all the time dogs being tolerant of children holding them when learning how to walk when another person would do it they would be cranky. Its amazing how they are so protective of their owners. Don't worry mine was a bit of a hot head too to strangers, he hated people dressed in hoodies over the head, dark coloured people, somehow he knew drug dealers and his most hated was MALE VETS - he tried attacking them in the vet but when a female vet came along he was all calm and happy. He did bite the local school principal though because he ran out the gate played with the children and when the principal grabbed him, he bite back but usually when he snuck out the gate we would find him 1km down the road swimming in the river. When he got older we would just find him walking back and he realised his older and more tired. He rarely managed to get out the gate though so he would go swimming in his dog bowl or sneak into the pool when we were going in.

I find dogs, like dobermans, german shepherds and rottweilers have a bad reputation due to bad owners. Owners which beat their dogs till they fear anything should be condemned. I find its the owner not the dog which should be punished.

The Jack Russel was mine called "Buddy", his at my Nanna's
The Golden Retriever "Walter" is with myself with the icecream, my brother & I with the cake. He loved his food.
His from show dog parents, he had "anger issues" which the breeder wanted to give us a new pup for but you can't give up an adorable dog once you have him.
The Cat, is my other brothers - Matilda she currently lives with mum and myself.
The Brown, Labradoodle is my sisters dog. Its now 5 years older and basically the size of a small horse
The Two dobs are my brothers which he recently had to give away to a good home as they are from a working and security dog background / been trained slightly in it.

When I eventually move out which would be awhile with Uni, I am hoping to get ether a german shepherd or ridgeback

I guess it would be similar to the Albino German Sheperd, not many people knew about them because they thought they were a "defect" and killed them for being white.
Such shame.

If you're talking about the white German shepherd, it isn't albino. It still has pigmentation, with a black nose and black skin. An albino would have a pink nose and no pigmentation in the skin. Its a common misconception, sorry if I sound mean, I'm not trying to be!:)

We also have a 65g tank and parakeets, but I'm sure you're convinced of our insanity by now.

I'm about to have two puppies in addition to the 3 dogs I already have. I'm raising a litter of 4 beautiful puppies, and we are keeping two of them and the other two already have owners waiting for them :-) I understand your insanity lol.

There's albino, and there's white. I could be mistaken, but I believe the whites were the one that they attempted to kill off.

Correct! I've had two White German Shepherds. However, some of the whites still have a pink nose. I love the White German Shepherds, but they're hard to find, and expensive.

Re: Pets of the AC

I've had an albino. If I can find pictures of her ill post.
