Hi, likewise I am in the same boat. A family member deleted an entire folder of photos recently from their Moto E and asked me to help recover them. Photos were saved to phone's micro sd card. Online backup to google drives are not possible due to no access to wifi and limited internet access. Phone is not rooted. Are there legitimate recover options?

Look at this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...os/500142-guide-recovering-deleted-files.html. Recovering deleted files from Internal Storage requires root, which in itself might overwrite some of that data before it can be recovered.

Photos were saved to phone's micro sd card

This is a relatively easy fix.
Turn off the phone, put the SD card into a card reader attached to your computer.
There are plenty of undelete programs available.
"Recuva" for Windows gets good reviews.

So you're saying there's a chance? I appreciate the referral for Recuva. Have you or anyone used the Recuva free version? If so does it work without limitation for basic file recovery? Thanks again!

I use card recovery. It saved my butt a few times at professional assignments.

If you are rooted you can use diskdigger it worked for me

Stil cant recover photos,not very techy minded sites keep on about rooting etc then say there is a charge of £50 or so any free sites out there?

For internally saved files? Not unless you root.

For files saved on the SD card, PhotoRec. See B. Diddy's link in post #5 .
