On my opti s its ignore and screen lock, I believe. I tried that with my wife's replenish but it didn't work.

With this phone, you'll just have to wait till the update gets cooked into the new phoenix rom. All you can do now is click install later and then clear your notifications..that's about it..lol

You can make it go way by editing /system/build.prop. I'll have to edit and upload one I guess.

or you can simply delete the downloaded update file in /cache

then, let it update. it wont be able to, obviously, and the notification is gone

Firehak is correct - you need to update build.prop. Deleting the update is only a temp fix as it will download again. just replace all occurrences of EK18 with FA19 and the message will disappear after you delete the file from cache.

What are you extracting? The rom is meant to be flashed as a zip file.

I worry what may become of these phones.

Like a lot of rooting guides say, "If you don't know what root is, you probably shouldn't do it".

If you can't unzip it (even though you shouldn't be trying to) then it got corrupted and you need to re download it.

Hey guys,please bear with the noobness.My first replenish I rooted with Shabby's prevail to existence.This was my first time to even try any of this.Long story short,I loved exploring with root,tried to get GB update as the OTA would not work,bricked the phone...I took it back,got new one,GB updated as soon as I walked out of the store.So,I am now on 2.3.6,FA19 and want to root it.Ive been trying to follow the forum but am confused.Does the PhoenixRom root the phone,or do I need to get root before I get it.Thank you all for your patience and for introducing me to a world I had no idea of and want to do right.

Phoenix ROM is not yet at FA19, so you don' t want to install that until firehak updates it. My custom kernel is FA19 based, but you can not install that either until you install phoenix ROM, so for now, you are stuck without root.

The only other option is to loose your FA19 update and roll back to phoenix ROM with EK18.

Otherwise, you will need to install CWM and create your own set of files to give yourself root. It is doable, but only if you know what you are doing. My advice - wait for firehaks ROM update.

I came from Leaf Rom 2. I installed cmw5 succcesully using odin.

When I go to update the zip from cmw, I get
--- installing/sdcard/P...
Finding update package....
Installing Update....
Installation aborted.

No I cannot get past the Replish screen. I tried clearing cache and data. Any ideas?

I was able to recover using Shabby's "Recovery of all sorts" to be able to boot back into the rom. I tried again from there to go to the to PhoeniX but the exact same error came up. Is there a log I can look at for this? I did not see any obvious logs.

I was able to flash your Stock Gingerbread Root Rom from there

I want to apologize to everyone for disappearing so much lately, it's been a difficult time (I'll spare you the details), but everything finally seems to be calming down. I may be going somewhere today, but if not, I'll be resuming work on the rom tonight. If I do leave, it'll be tomorrow.

Can you please post your exact steps (including errors along the way) so we might have a little more insight?

If you follow the instructions for installing Phoenix 0.2, CWM is installed in the process.
