I got one coming in the mail but what if I decide not to get a nexus 5, can I still keep it or do I have to send it back?
Keep it or give it to someone who may need it.

I walked into a Sprint store and even though they couldn't get the phone activated he gave me a Sprint SIM (no charge and the receipt even has the SIM SKU but says $0.00 in store charge).. It's in the phone and the pull down drawer says "Sprint" and under network it says Sprint because of the card BUT because the serial numbers for the 32 gig (or so it seems) are not yet uploaded into Sprints data base they can't actually activate the phone yet... They told me 24 - 48 hours... Local store manager told me Sprint may hold off until Friday since that is their official launch date but that is B.S. to the highest degree... They are just not ready at all... Great way to lose customers to another carrier.....
So when you purchase the phone from the Google Play store and have it activated, does Sprint make you sign a new 2-yr agreement?
There is a guy on xda that purchased two 32gb one black one white. He managed to get the white one activated but not the black. I think sprint had all of the 16gb serial numbers loaded onto their system and slowly adding the 32.
i was with Sprint since 2008. i posted this below in another thread - fyi - you guys do not know what you're missing - AT&T LTE is NIGHT AND DAY vs. Sprint. LTE is super fast and EVERYWHERE. check it out! -
ok - i just switched from Sprint to AT&T GoPhone. AT&T GoPhone LTE is blazing fast and ubiquitous. night and day vs. Sprint. i didn't know what i was missing! also call quality seems much, much clearer, Google Voice Lite for Voicemail is much easier to set up (No Dial** required), ability to do Simultaneous Voice+Data all the time is nice, i haven't tried it yet but i think jumping in/out of 3 way calls is easier with GSM vs. CDMA, and lastly the AT&T GoPhone web interface for account administration and billing is super simple, clean, and easy - yet still has a lot of features like call details etc!
Sprint probably expected everyone buying from them at the subsidy price, or didn't think enough people wanted the 32GB version!:banghead:
Either way they're stupid for thinking like that!

Okay I have my 32 gig Nexus 5 up and running on Sprint.... I had to call last night and the rep had to open up a ticket to get the device IMEI # set up in their system... This morning I went back online to my sprint account and it accepted the IMEI and the ICCID I got from the Sprint store... After that it said to click to chat and complete activation the rep asked for all the same questions and 5 minutes later it was up and running.. SO if you have a 32 gig from the play store have them open a ticket to activate your IMEI in their system and wait 12 hours and try again..... Mine is working fine now...
