I watched on two separate occasions at an unnamed Corporate sprint store I watched the guy open my pre and set it on the hard counter and begin to spin it like a top. I didn't say anything because both times the device was replaced. I know its just a phone but its my phone. I would never do anything like that to one of our customers products.

i think that calls for a -

"do you mind not doing that? thank you."

I do that all the time with my Pre, open it up and spin it like a top. So much fun :)

Yea, I've done that with my BB Curve, but it was FREE and already had signs of extreme wear + water damage. Still working as good as day 1 though...

But if something like that happened to my new Evo, I think that the employee and I would be having a little convo, if its on launch date then I probably would be late for work (AND I'M NEVER LATE FOR WORK).

yeah its just more of a respect issue. I just really want to make an unboxing video for my own purposes. Not having them mess with my device is just a bonus.

I agree with most of you. Hate other people touching my phones. Especially when they are new.

I hope they don't look at me weird when I ask them not to open the box. I might make some BS excuse up.

Then Sprint to my car and check to see everything is there.

I wouldn't be a fan of some dude spinning my phone either. I usually just tell them to activate the phone, and I'll do the rest...

Wow, I thought I was the only one that likes to open up the box. I have ordered every phone through telesales so I can get them in the mail. Last year when I got the Pre the employee opened up the box and was like "Cool, this is the first one ive seen. Come look guys!" He started flicking and swiping all over the screen. By the time I got the phone it looked used. I hope RS can activate it without opening the box.

Who cares what they think. Or just say it's for a relative or something...

They just do it, to activate it in store so there are no issues, nothing missing etc. Like when you start your Pre for the first time you should make yourself a palm profile to backup your data... and sometimes phones have little tutorials, and average cell people are clueless how to use their new phones sometimes and they will usually have the rep show em how to use the phone.

I don't know why you would want to make another unbox vid when there are tons of em on the web...

Good. I thought I was the only one who had opinions about salespeople 'mishandling' my phone. Just the thought of dropping the phone on the counter irritates me. If it gets real bad this time, I'm going to leave and then complain about scratches a few days later. I should be able to get a new phone seeing that I will be a new customer.

I just ask them if I can take the phone out myself, and do the prep work.. most of the times they let me.

if they drop it i would just ask for a new one or i would leave.

no wait you know what when i walk in the door for my apppointment if they have to open the box ill tell them to leave the plastic one. they can work it through the letters...
