Ad blocking helps battery life

I'll admit....there are some ads that just seem go go haywire once the page loads. I've seen a couple on news sites that just bog my phone down so much. The same news sites kill my PC too.

AC is really bad, (really, really bad!), on mobile without ad blocking. I don't even visit the site on mobile due to the page loading so slowly, stalling, etc. Unfortunately, my Note 4 and Note 10.1 2014 aren't rooted, so I can't run adblockers. Not willing to root for something like this.

On desktop, WinXP with Firefox, Noscript and Adblock takes care of things nicely. Without them, I wouldn't even attempt to navigate this site, much less post here. I don't mind ads that much as some can be good, but AC... well

You can always use Firefox and install an ad blocker through ad ons, just like the desktop version. AC is 100% better in app form.

I've run Firefox on desktop since around inception. They progressively got really good, and then after around version 25, updates got crazy, or should I say crazier... they were getting crazy all along from about version 6 up to 25 too! I still use FF on my desktop (exclusively!), but in Android, FF sucks. Slow loads, constant crashes, with or without adblock plus or any adblocking extension. Even ABP doesn't have the control that desktop versions have, especially with their whitelist, which I don't care for. I gave up on FF already. Don't get me wrong... on the desktop, you can't beat it in my opinion.

I tried it before and still didn't like the load times. Maybe they got better, but I'll just confine my time to visiting on my desktop.

Thanks for suggestions though!

I actually like the Samsung browser on both my devices (KK). It runs circles around Firefox. Yes, unfortunately, can't get the newer version on KK. I don't do banking on my phone/tablet, so using the default browser poses no issues for me.
