Adjustments, tips and tricks to maximize Battery Life on Samsung Galaxy S6/edge

I'd take my battery meter being slightly wonky to get your SOT. I show 100% when fully charged but only for maybe 5 or 10 minutes tops before it starts to drop. So if your getting 5 1/2 hours SOT that sounds pretty darn good. I recall awhile back your complaint was really much poorer battery life and way less SOT. Your S6 sounds great other than the meter. I have OCD and while stuff like that bugs me I think you got the better end of the deal. So maybe don't look at the meter when you unplug it and enjoy all that power to spare and you'd never know.

I literally have ocd so at least you understand my pain xd

I'm not an Android user, as I'm using an HTC M8 for windows. However this coming month all indications are that I will be moving to an Android device particularly the S6 Edge . So thanks for the tips.

On holidays, not using my phone much, check this standby time with WiFi off.

It's been a while, but my battery still hasn't done very well. Any suggestions? I'm now on AT&T 5.1.1. Also, this is all with power saving mode on and about 1/4 brightness.

I read through this and noticed you guys mentioning Doze. I installed it and thus far have seen great results. Small sample, but is encouraging. I also cleared my Cache. Good stuff. I appreciate it.

I also installed doze and I can't for the life of me get it to work even on Wi-Fi or mobile data. I setup the vpn qnd everything but to no avail. I'm on sprint if it matters.

Reinstall? I'm not sure why the carrier would matter. For me, I installed it, opened it, click agree the VPN and voila. I went and made exceptions for 4 apps and turned off the notification. I didn't have to do anything special for it.

Yeah, it's sad when people come to this forums and use its resources complaining and not paying it forward when somebody give them ideas and suggestions to fix their issues.

I don't understand why some prefer to keep complaining instead of simply try some suggestions given to them and simply post back if it works or not, that way others with similar issues can benefit from it and not act like selfish pricks.

Thank you so much for these great, wonderful and effective tips in enxtending battery for android/smartphones.
