Adjustments, tips and tricks to maximize Battery Life on Samsung Galaxy S6/edge

It does only stop them from running when the screen is off but that's what auto stop on 5.1.1 is for. Is shut app the same as greenify where you have to select it to stop the apps from running?

Ahh, yeh ok, I didn't realise that auto stop feature, im going to update to telstras 5.1.1 . auto stop sounds much better then manually controlling ShutApp or Greenify.

I find sometimes that autostop can be a bit iffy. It will be like half an hour and I will go to check running apps and apps I had selected to be autostopped will still be running. It's great when it actually does something

I just discovered greenify has this feature. I'm going to try it and see what happens

Doze does seem to make held awake higher. In 9 hours off the charger my phone has over two hours of held awake time. Doesn't seem to affect the battery though. With greenify and Doze I've never had such good battery performance

I uninstalled gsam battery monitor. It was giving ridiculous readings. It told me I had only six minutes of screen on time after four hours of using the phone lol

Same here. Sick of this crap. Not blaming samsung nor google individually, but both together as a whole. Heck, I've even factory reset. There's no rhyme or reason for this and it flat out should not happen.

For some reason I don't see Google Play in my battery stats anymore. I also get very good battery life since it disappeared from my list.

How long has it been since you updated the software or wiped the cache partition? Maybe this is what seems to need to be worked through for a week or two before battery life returns to normal...

What are doze and greenify don't you have to root your phone?

Both have options for un rooted phones and they keep being updated. For example greenify in its most recent update now has a feature where if the screen if off for a certain period of time it will force stop any apps running in the background

Updated when Verizon released 5.1.1
Wiped cache at that time.
If Google Play services is tied to worse battery life then it's no wonder I have great battery life since it doesn't even rate showing up in my battery stats. I'm not going to mess with anything that's working this good.

I lose like 15% of battery in less than a hour! I have greenify and am using it but i still get these results! Also looked at most of the advice everyone has posted yet i get around 9 hours of battery life with around 3 hours of screen on time. Is my battery broken or something cause this is ridonkulouus

Greenify works for standby battery drain, it has no effect on battery drain during active use.
