Adoptable storage alternative suggestions for 7.0 and S7 Edge?

Since you cant enable adoptable storage anymore.. and also the debug option of forcing apps to be movable to sd doesnt seem to help at all.. what other options are there for migrating apps to the SD card (in my case the tmobile s7 edge phone)?

I've tried using the app2sd manager but it really doesnt move much at all.. some apps might be 1.5 gb and it moves 40MB.. relatively worthless (and yeah it uses the built in mover, but its easier to see whats there and whats not using the 3rd party one)..

Any suggestions or tips here?

Has anyone found another way.

(i'm guessing rooting is out.. i read before there may have been a root for this phone but it brought its own issues into play)

For each app that is using lots of data space (camera, GPS, maps, games), check the app settings to see if it lets you pick the SD card for the data storage. The better written apps let you do this.
