Adverts and info on lockscreen since udate

[AC Question]

Hi

Just recently my S4 has been showing adverts and information on the lockscreen. With the info I can just swipe to dismiss. But I can't get rid of the adverts unless I click into them.

I haven't downloaded any strange apps. But almost all have updated as it's been a year or so since I used the phone.

Can anyone help, because I'd really like to get rid of them.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have any 3rd party keyboards, launchers, file managers, battery-saver or "RAM-booster" apps installed? Peel Remote is another common culprit.

Thank you B Diddy, I have just uninstalled Peel Remote update in an attempt to solve the same problem on my Note3. I haven't got a third party keyboard or downloaded any apps recently. I'd been getting unwanted messages on the lock screen for about a week then got my first advert tonight. Very unwelcome so fingers crossed!
