Hello friendly people of androidcentral :)
I am in need of some assistance! (if this is the right forum to ask?)
I am looking for tablet advice...something that you have probably been asked many times haha

Just some background info on current tablet:
Currently 'foraged and found' a Samsug Galaxy Tab3 that my father was given for free with the purchase of his Samsung phone back in 2013. The tablet was hardly used, no files (photos or documents), some apps on there, basic use from him at work. I have used it for a few days and it is quite slow/performance etc. This is after the factory reset, but not sure if I will keep it as its still a bit sluggish and driving me nuts!. So looking at other tablets at the moment.

Budget:

-£90 limit..although I feel comfortable around the £70 mark!

Uses:
-Youtube
-Google
-General Google play store apps
-Possibly movies..If I can access any...

Priorities:

-Good performance. Snappy, fast, quick. I like to access apps, pages, content fast. Can handle multiple apps running at once (does RAM effect this?). My current (2013) Samsung tab3 is quite slow and its becoming unbearable! I guess because it's an old model and has 1GB RAM!
-Good quality screen(resolution?) Can play Youtube videos at 720p minimum!
-7 inch tablet. I like the current size of my Samsung 7 inch I am using, its a nice size. Although if there any any cheap 8" tablets, that will be nice
-Decent storage. I currently use a 64GB microSD card as well

I have 2 in mind at the moment. The "Lenovo Tab 3 Essential 7-Inch Tablet" and "Huawei MediaPad T3 7" Tablet".

Any advice would be kindly appreciated. Hopefully I have given enough information to help with advice.

Thank You :)

Welcome to Android Central! If these specs are accurate, I'd go with the Lenovo: https://gadgets.ndtv.com/lenovo-tab-7-essential-4520-vs-huawei-mediapad-t3-7-4119. The Lenovo has an SD card slot and comes with Nougat, while the Huawei doesn't have an SD slot and comes with Marshmallow. Lenovo's UI skin is also very light, and very close to stock Android, while Huawei's EMUI is heavily customized and not to everyone's liking.

Be aware that since neither of those tablets has a gyroscope, they probably aren't compatible with any VR apps.

Regardless of the tablet, make sure it has at least 16 GB of internal storage as a bare minimum -- 8 GB will get filled up very quickly, and there's no guarantee that you'll be able to move apps to SD or format the SD card as internal storage.

I recently got a Lenovo Tab 4 8 for my daughter, and it's pretty decent -- but that's more like 125 pounds.

Hi

Apparently reviews have shown that the Huawei received the 7.0 Nougat version, and it also supports a microSD card. But I am also getting mixed info on the Lenovo also..really confusing

Interesting...Amazon specs and even reviews (from last 3 months) say there is space for expandable storage, and that it definately has Nougat...

Maybe it is not updated on the Huawei website? Will have to contact them to find out.

But you say Lenovo has a better Android 'look'? I can change the Launcher if I like also.

Would be great to get other peoples opinion!
