I have Auto rooted my phone and have verified its rooted. Does this now mean that if I switch to Mobile Hotspot, I can share unlimited data ?? (subject to fair use caps)

My goal is simply to use my phone as a modem / mobile hotspot and share the internet across 2 - 3 devices without the 5Gig/10Gig Verizon parameters for their mobile hotspot plans.

no.

you need to download a WirelessTether app from wherever you can find it, (i'd recommended from Google Source Code page),
open that wirelesstether app, and use That as your mobile hotspot.it still uses your regular internet connection, just bypassing VZW's mobile hotspot app.

if you use the VZW mobile hotspot app, then you'll be charged accordingly.

Mobile Hotspot app is free for TB users right now and in fact, was just extended to June 16th.

Wireless tether works but you do not want to be caught using it by Big Red. It is a violation of their TOS/EULA. Most believe that if used in moderation, you will not have a problem. The only "legit" way is to pay for one of their tethering plans.

Good Luck
