Air View/Gesture/Screen bug, or defective phone.

Upon unboxing my new phone, I tested out all of the new features, all of which work except for anything Smart Screen related. The unlock screen shows the star whenever I hover my finger over it, however every other Smart Screen feature fails to work(Air Gestures and Air View do not work). I've looked through all settings and everything related to the Smart Screen and Air view/Gesture is enabled.

Am I missing something? Or is my phone defective?

mine worked at first but now it doesn't. all settings say "on" it is strange. I'm changing from an iphone though and I'm totally confused.

Have you tried rebooting the phone once?
And aren't some of these based off of the front facing camera? Try testing out the front facing camera in the camera app. Does that work?
I can't think of anything else.

My air views for messages suddenly stopped working now. I have it on and double checked. I restarted and even did a battery pull and nothing. Air view is still working for phones and for web pages but not for messaging.

All these bugs are starting to p*** me off

soneone just told me air view only works in messaging if the message is longer then a few words. So text someone longer then what you can see by opening the message and it should work

My Airview only works on the lock screen and in Flipboard. I can't get it to work in the Gallery, where it would be handy. I've rebooted and pulled the battery, checked the settings. Nothing will make it work. Oh, yeah and my GPS won't come on when it is supposed to, like in Maps. It is turned on. Only way to make it actually turn on and work is to go into the settings and turn it off and then back on. I'm about to restore the phone to the factory state and see if that works. If it doesn't, I'll take it back. How well does the GPS work on the HTC One?

If you just toggled air view on those are enabled by default but you have to actually click the left part of the option to get into the extended option and enable the other things like info preview and webpage magnifier. Not sure about the GPS, mine works fine.

Yep, you were correct. Works now. As far as the GPS not working, I found the culprit. The Yahoo Weather app was causing my GPS to stop working. As soon as I un-installed it, it worked fine again. I have let the Yahoo folks know about the issue and they are looking into it.

Quick Glance - Seems to work when phone is lying flat, screen off..hand over sensor and it shows Time, Date, etc.
Air Move - When moving an Icon, it does show the icon to allow this.
Air Jump - never see the Icon nor do any hand movements over sensor function.
Air Browse - same as Jump...nothing.

When does the Icon come on....does it show most all the time (assuming settings has it ON)?

I don't believe the camera is related at all to the features there is a separate sensor

I am using FireFox for browsing as RoboForm Android only will work with it.
The Air Gestures do NOT work with FireFox!

I tried IE and AG works fine....

My air gestures work fine and my smart screen and scroll where my problem comes in is the damn palm to screens hot and palm to mute those are not good for me

For the palm to screen shot, the side of your hand actually has to touch the screen. Yeah, took me a while too.

I am having an issue with airview and email in my inbox. When I perform the airview function on an email in my inbox the text is not magnified and a small icon is displayed in the corner. How can I get the text to be magnified so I can preview it like in the messaging app? I made sure all the airview settings are set to yes and I am still having problems.

I noticed the same thing....using GMail.
I then tried "Email" and it works!
