All about Incredible batteries (Replacements, Charging..ect)

Well I did typical phone usage today. Work time. I play games a lot of games while waiting on various functions to run at work. So today I played about 2 hours of drop and that puzzle game where you fix the computer network. I downloaded beautiful widget along with 3 different skins and a weather icon pack. All this on 3G. Browsed around several forums from probably about 45 minutes to an hour and took the average 3-5 phone calls each being about 10 minutes each. Received 100+ emails and 200+ Gtalk/SMS/MMS messages. Had twitter pulling each hour, weather on 3 hours, Gmail is push. GPS off, bluetooth off, but mobile, wifi on.

Today I pulled the phone off the charger at 8am and it completely died on me at 9pm. Like turned the phone off died. For my circumstances I would say I wasn't too shy from being considered heavy usage especially considering some of my web time was browsing Youtube. I also streamed podcasts while I worked today so I have approximated 2 hours of podcasts going. Overall I'm still happy with the 12-13 hours I'm getting and I'm now on my 3rd cycle of 6 for conditioning the battery in!

So yes I stand by the 12 hour moderate to heavy use. But I still don't want to be firm about it until I get all 6 cycles and a week of testing out of the way. As I said before the preliminary results are impressing me already though, the reason I say this is because the phone lasts longer than the stock on a bump charge the first time I used it after the initial phone off 8 hour charge. And each cycle it's gaining time as it conditions. Amazing.

you could also just hit the clock on the homescreen when the device is plugged in.
It will show you the percentage then.

I am getting solid battery life with the stock and I have no idea what I am doing wrong LOL

WTF that blew my mind hahahah. i had no idea. well anyways the app shows you at all times in the top left corner as well as gives you a bunch of helpful information. I had no idea you could click the clock tho lol. crazy.

Can anyone explain "bump charging" in more detail?

bump charge it (charging it to green, turning it off and recharging it)

Can anyone explain "bump charging" in more detail? Why should I charge my phone in this manner? What benefits should I expect by doing this?

Thanks!

it some how pushes the limits of the charger top end auto shut off. It seems to give more life to the battery but you have to baby sit it back and forth in at the start of your day. PIA in my opinion.

Yeah. Not doin' it. :p

Thanks for the detailed updates, Qazme. I'm staying tuned to see how much it improves (or, faulters) over the next week.

I have a skin case for my phone already -- I'd save a few bucks by continuing to use the OEM battery door.

ok, I'm at a complete loss

I can't get my uptime and awake time to differ. I'm constantly at 1:1. I did a factory reset today and only set up my email (1 each: exchange, gmail, hotmail, and yahoo). Weather is set to update every 6 hours. Facebook isn't even set up.

So, it seems to me that I am getting through most every day with the stock battery... Even times when I heavily use it at work, I'm always near a computer or in my car to charge it... However, I'm thinking about my vacations... I know I'll be using the phone heavily for pictures, 4square, FB, Internet, etc... So I'm set on the fact I will be buying an additional battery to have with me... Since I have time to wait, should I just buy the 1750mAh available now, or wait until Verizon releases the 2150mAh for $10 more?

It depends... no one knows when the 2150mAh from Verizon will be coming out. Rumor has it that its delayed till July sometime.

I personally am waiting for the 2150mAh battery from Verizon to come out myself since it comes with the battery door and makes the phone a tad bit thicker. It really depends on when you will go on vacation I guess.

1st week long vacation is coming in October, so I have time... But today, for example... My unplug time on the stock battery is 13H 40M... I have exactly 50% battery left... This is after Bump Charging this morning... GPS, WiFi, have been enabled all day... Many text messages, a few voice calls... Just spent the last hour on Facebook refreshing every 10 seconds to keep up with a "Comment Chain"... I've also taken 7 pictures with flash, and uploaded them to Facebook and 1 hour streaming Pandora... I can't really complain at this point...

Got my new Seido Last night. I've been tracking my battery availablity this week, and on average, I need the phone to last 7am to 6pm (work day.) I was able to get to 4:00 and the battery hit 20%. The surprising thing for me is that at 20% battery life, I had a few dropped calls. I've never had a dropped call on this phone. Kinda weird.

Anyway, that won't cut it for days that I go to the gym after work, or any other extracirricular activity. Not to mention long days with heavy usage.

So last night, swapped out the battery, stuck it on the charger, and let it charge for 8hrs straight. I'll let it run all day today..see how far it goes. I'm hoping for teh 35% boost that is advertised.

Question: My old battery, Right now it is 70% charged. Should I charge it to 100% before putting it in storage? Don't know if I'll ever use it, but I'd like to have a usable battery nearby. When storing a battery what %charged is optimal?

I stand by my claim for vacations, etc. I have an external/ portable charger because it fits my needs.
maybe look into that.
I have the energizer branded version.

Because like you, I am rarely away from a charger.

Ya me too... im holding out for the official 2150mAh battery from Verizon. Would be nice to have a little thickness and weight added to the phone too, even if its very minimal. Just my opinion.

I'm the exact opposite: light and thin is my goal.

Definitely something to think about... It's a little bigger than carrying around an extra battery, but it's cheaper and I wouldn't have to worry about swapping batteries during the day (or at night to get them both fully charged)... Thanks for the additional suggestion...
