Just pre-ordered at a Sprint store and was told second or third week in June for whatever it is worth.

Why would you get an EVO 4G less than a month prior to the EVO 3D launch? I'm guessing you'll try and take it back within the return window.
Here's why you shouldn't do that...
1) No one knows the firm release date. It could be July and then you'll be stuck on an EVO 4G.
2) The 3D may be in small quantities and sell out. Which means even if it launches June 1st, you could be in danger of not getting one for a month or two and your return window will close.
Stick with what you have until solid details emerge about the launch date.
Good points. I just need to get rid of AT&T I'm sure if I get a 4g I can still preorder the 3D, but your right about no firm release date which is the only reason I'm holding back.

But you won't qualify for the instant rebates if you use them to get the 4G and are unable to return it within the window. Even if you are able to I am sure there will be restocking fees and who knows what other fees.
I had the motorola Xoom for 10 days, returning it cost me a total of $115 (75 restocking, 40 for some other bs bill from verizon they would not waive)

The only thing is that the 20th is a monday after Father's Day and that Radio Shack ad was a Father's Day ad... we'll see what happens
I just came back from BestBuy after returning the HTC Flyer, and asked about the 3d. The guy said they will be available 'the middle of June' with 'no exact release date yet' - and they were taking preorders. I didn't inquire about price.
Just left corp Sprint store in Plano, tx where they say that haven't been trained yet but there is a scheduled system update on June 4 and that's done right before they release new phones. He thinks June 4 also but hasn't seen anything official.
After seeing the Miss Sprint Cup's tweet about an announcement tomorrow, I decided to go to local corporate Sprint (Killeen TX) to pre-order. The CSR ringing me up was a newb, so the mgr was there helping him out and we got yacking about it. He told me he had been playing with it for a while now, and was FAST (duh). I told him about the rumors floating all around the forums and how everyone was getting bummed about no release date. He all but confirmed the annnoucement for the release date for tomorrow, and said the device would release in June, and that guesses around Father's Day were very close. He said he couldn't tell me anymore (without killing me
), because that info wouldn't leave his store. So, if he's right, they've been told to be quiet about it for whatever reason. My guess for release date will 17 JUN, right before Father's day. I doubt srsly that it will be the 20th, since that's AFTER Father's Day and on a Monday, and that just doesn't fit their release patterns. Still, what I don't get if Radio Shack has a print ad saying you can pre order on Fathers Day weekend, wouldn't you expect it to a bit longer until the phone will be available? Then again, they could announce it tomorrow and open pre orders officially.....aaaargh, I give up guessing. Mine's been pre ordered at Radio Shack, I will just wait until it comes out, and stop trying to guess.
However.....if taking to account that most people are now shifting away from June 4th and towards the middle or end of June, there must be some truth to it....dang it! I just can't stop!
