trter I am unrooting and the download of the files is taking what seems to be forever, should it take around 45 minutes? The reason for the unroot is that I cannot update folks in my football group local high school scores and listen to iHeart radio at the same time without some serious lag. I know this should be it's own topic. I apologize.

Did it ever work?

Oops yes it worked, and the problem was entirely user error, I had Google Music uploading files at the same time. After last night I am going to root once again and try every ROM I can, laggy keyboard and missed sports scores really stink. None of that is your programs fault I digress please forgive me.

Hi,

I am having an issue with rooting my Thunderbolt using the tool. I installed the necessary driver, ran it, and the thunderbolt.bat file, but it won't recognize my phone for some reason.
What am I doing wrong? Will I need to root it using another software first? I keep seeing "Revolutionary" mentioned in the thread. Would I need to install this?
I read the readme file, and I have done everything except uninstall HTC sync( I don't recall installing it, and I don't know how I would go about uninstalling it since I can't find the program on my phone). I have USB Debug, Stay awake, and Charge only set to my phone..

can someone tell me what to do how to do it, i have NO CLUE HOW TO ROOT MY THUNDERBOLT ive been trying for weeeekssss!

Used this yesterday to root my Tbolt that I got back in April 2011 (took me long enough, right?). This was great! Simple, fast, and reliable. Thanks for this one!

Hello... I have CM7'd my Nook Color, but I have never rooted any phone... so I have a couple of questions.

First... after downloading the Thunderbolt Tool, does my computer need to have an internet connection?

2nd...I'm using Windows Vista, and after I download the TBT to its own folder, I open it and click on Thunderbolt Tool, and the window pops up. It says, "Device not connected.... Waiting for device connection" I have used all four USB drives, uninstalled HTC Sync... and I have put my phone in Charge Only mode. What am I missing?

UPDATE... ok...it still doesn't acknowledge my phone in CHARGE ONLY mode, but I tried putting it in HTC Sync mode and the WARNING: PHONE IS STOCK menu comes up. Do I proceed or it still needs to be in CHARGE ONLY mode?

I think HTC sync should be OK.

trter10-2, I tried unrooting using your tool and I'm in the bootloader where it says:

"Main Version is older!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot."

I am in the andirc channel and no response from anyone. No idea what to do at this point as your program strictly states not to power off if it fails...

I took my time and read all prereq's etc, no idea why it failed. Please help!

Used the tool to unroot about a month ago. No problems until tonight. Phone started hanging...I figured it's a problem with the ROM, so I flashed a known good ROM, I've used it before. Now the phone hangs on the HTC splash screen. I've been into the bootloader a couple of times after pulling the battery and trying to restart.

Any ideas. At this point I'd like to get back to stock before I really mess something up....unless I already have. :)

It worked just fine. Thanks for creating this. The amount of battery life without the bloatware is absolutely amazing.

Go into recovery and flash a different rom

Hello, I'm going to try this method and wanted to know if this will allow me to remove all the Verizon bloatware, or will I have to do something else. Thanks.
