Hi there... Ijust tried rooting my phone through this tool and I'm being infromed by Titanium and other apps that my phone is not rooted.

I had no problem rooting my last tbolt (this is a asurian replacement) with Revolutionary. I happened to see this and it seemed easier. I puzzled.

Hopefully someone can answer this question, and hopefully it hasn't already been asked. I rooted using Revolutionary a while back. Then I decided to unroot because I felt like my phone just wasn't running very well rooted, so I used the method Cyber Warrior posted here, and per those instructions, I started at the part where it says "Putting current stock firmware and s-on back onto the phone" since I was unrooting for personal purposes, not for warranty purposes.

Well, now I need to unroot for warranty purposes, but by the instructions on that page linked above, I would have needed to set up ADB and go through that process before doing the "soft unroot" process I performed before. Since my phone is basically, but not technically unrooted now, will this tool safely and fully unroot for me without going the ADB route? Is there a risk of bricking or screwing up in some other way? If I cannot use this tool, any suggestions on how to get ADB going since I am in a weird spot in the process? I'm really hoping I will be able to use the tool though since it looks much more painless than setting up ADB. Thanks for any help!

Any idea why I keep getting this error?

I'm going to try downloading the whole thing again.

Edit: It appears that the dropbox account has used too much bandwidth and they shut it down which appears to make the script get stuck in a loop.

I"m not getting any download for the tool. It says "Oops! Google could not conect to goo.im"

Anythoughts?

I was hoping to have everything downloaded and ready for tomorrow when the dropbox works again. :)

Thanks

First...I'm no expert....but I did just use this and rooted my phone in 8 minutes.

1. download the ThunderboltTool (zipped file)
2. Unzip it to a folder you can find again
3. Run Drivers.exe
4. Run ThunderboltTool.exe
5. Run ThunderboltTool.bat
6. It will then tell you it's waiting for connection
7. Make sure:
a. Debugging mode
b. always on
8. Choose 1. root
9. Follow directions.
When you get the message about Revolution:
1. Get a beta key
2. Paste it into the Command.exe window as per instructions.
3. FOLLOW instructions, type Y when prompted to install clockwork recovery.

Works great!

trter10-2,

Thank you for the excellent tool. I've never rooted a phone before today. (Tool is live again as of about 30 mins. ago)

Was extremely easy.

Expect a donation from me soon. :)

Thanks a bunch!!

Noobie here, do I need to download drivers prior to doing this root?

This will be my first attempt. Once I root using this tool will I need to do anything else or can I just use the phone as is. I ask because I see people talking about roms and I am not sure if there is another step I need to do after using this tool.

Also, supposedly HTC is releasing ICS soon. If I wait until after this update installs will this tool still work or might there be issues runing it?

This is what I see after I unzip
Support Files
Driver
Readme
Thunderbolt tool.

So I should double click driver and follow instructions?

I do not see ThunderboltTool.exe
But I do see ThunderboltTool.bat.
