What platform did you come from before your android phone?

I came most recently from iPhone. I actually switched to Android last November when the Droid and Droid Eris came out. Made a move back to iPhone in the middle of all that, and when iPhone 4 came out, just couldn't handle at & t's lackluster service any longer. I've used all the platforms and really think Android is my favorite. I don't have any regrets switching to Sprint (been mainly on Verizon for the last several years, except for the time with iPhone). Love the EVO, Sprint service is on par with Verizon (haven't dropped a call yet). I'll be trying out the Epic when it comes out in a few weeks.

I came from a Blackberry Tour. It was a great smartphone for me, but I wanted a better multimedia experience. Have no regrets leaving Blackberry for Android. The EVO is the best phone on the planet as far as I'm concerned. I have no complaints.

Wow seeing most people coming from palm OS like me has me feeling better. I felt about 3 smartphone generations behind but I guess palm wasn't so bad...

The more and more I use my EVO the more I like being free from blackberry outdated phones

this being a sample of almost 100 users
Palm and Blackberry must be bleeding users by the 1000s
wow!

Lots of old Palm users in here.

Well a lot of us are Sprint loyal, and the Pre was the only super phone we had. So yeah, it's not too surprising that we all got or Evo's as soon as possible. My Pre just fell apart before all was said and done. Loved the software, hated the hardware. Plus, I kinda always wanted to try out an all touchscreen phone... After learning Swype, I never want a physical keyboard on my phone ever again. I can type faster with Swype than I ever could with even my Blackberry.

I wanted the Pre when it came out but I opted for the blackberry tour at the end

came from a BB and other than missing BBM a little at first, there is simply no comparison I could not be any happier.

The glitches that Android has are tiny compared to bbq'd outdated OS. I think blackberry should buy palm revamp the palm web OS and fit it into the blackberry platform

WebOS all the way. In fact its still my daily driver. I just use my EVO as a tablet.

I get all my email instantly from all my 5 different email accounts.

This is very simple to do.

1. Go to GMAIL online from your computer
2. top right hand corner click "Settings"
3. click "Accounts and Import"
4. set up all your other email accounts
5. on all account select option: Reply from the same address the message was sent to

This works perfect for me. I get all my emails on my main GMAIL account. Email addresses are all separated in there own email box and when you reply the email is sent from the same email address the message was sent to. I am using aol, company email, another gmail account, yahoo etc.. On the phone itself only set up your main GMAIL account that contains all your email addresses. You can set up your email addresses using pop, imap, smtp and exchange options. I get my emails almost instantly on all accounts.

Out of curiosity, did you setup your Yahoo email through Gmail WITHOUT Yahoo's Plus (or whatever they call their paid service) account? I tried setting up Gmail to retrieve Yahoo with their free service and it doesn't work.

If you did get it to work, can you tell me what settings you setup in Gmail?

I'm glad that works for you, except that I didn't say I had an issue getting emails on time. Email integration on the iPhone is better hands down.

What's one man's garbage is another man's treasure...

Goto yahoo and it gives you your settings for Outlook its the same settings

I had a iphone and Although I like the quality of apps better the customization of the Evo takes it home for me....I hate how Apple locks you down.. Plus your always playing cat and mouse with apple when it comes to jailbreaking ur phone because the ios gets very boring to me when not jailbroken... Heck they just got wallpaper... Thats been on dumbphones forever...

Last phone prior to the EVO was the palm treo pro, win mobile. Before that I had a string of Palm treo's (Palm os phones). I use to think that my treo pro did everything i needed, until I got the EVO. I thought the size would be a little un cool, but it will be hard to go back to a smaller screen. When asked what phone to get, I always say, get an Android phone or (SORRY guys) Iphone. I think it would be nuts to get any other OS at this point. Anything else is too limited on the applications available. Android and Iphone has unlimited apps right now.

Palm Web OS could have great but not enough devices and app development I think if blackberry bought palm tweak Web OS to work with blackberry it would be a really good option

Came from Palm Pre. I really enjoyed the Pre. When it came time to upgrade it was not an easy choice. I liked some things that the Pre did but the things that this Evo can do far outweigh the Pre and I do not regret making the switch. As I become more accustomed to it I am becoming more blown away by it. Not looking back. Fantastic phone.

I have to agree the EVO has lots of goodies.
