I don't think so. VZW Pixel XL on the site in Silver & Black r available to be delivered on the 20th, Blue "limited" one is scheduled to be delivered on the oct 28th.
just seems Google messed up as usual on the inventory as they do every release like the Nexus devices.

Just checked (only 25 minutes after your post) and every variant (other than blue) of the Pixel is available. All Pixel XL's are sold out, but the 32GB silver is frequently available, the 32GB black and 128GB silver occasionally. The 128GB Black is the 'white whale.'

Nope... Google has nothing available.. I seriously have to wonder about some of these posts.... LOL
Every color and every size is either OUT OF STOCK or SHIPS IN 4-5 WEEKS via Google store..
Of course VZW has stock as nobody in their right mind would order from them..

Google Store right now, same as before, for Pixel the 32GB and 128GB models both showing available in black and silver. Then again, I'm in the US - perhaps it might appear differently for stock in the Play Store from other countries?
Edit - whoops, yes, ships in 4-5 weeks. But that's nothing new, it's been that way.
Disappointing thing is that they wwon't allow preorder of the Pixel XL's with an extended time - I'd be ok if they told me 6-8 weeks if they'd just llet me give them my money...

I think a lot of people are not seeing that part.. As of a few days ago the black 5" 32GB was in stock and showing as available for the 20th. All the others were either out of stock or at that 4-5 week mark. Now the 5" black 32GB also shows that time frame which means they've sold everything they had available..

It's probably a mix of both factors. They may have done a somewhat limited first run, based on initial sales projections, and then sales may have outpaced that.

It was the same case last year for the Nexus 6p. Everything sold out within a few days of the initial announcement, and sporadically would become available again as weeks went by. Of course the Nexus 6p didn't sell any ridiculous numbers, so try not to get too hyped about the fact that they're sold out. It's more than likely the fact that inventory was low and demand, like every other year, quickly outpaced their inventory because the inventory was low.

I always wait because I don't want to wait weeks to get a phone on the preorder and then they just run out. It's ridiculous every year after year.
It's the same every year. I keep thinking maybe I'll buy that years phone and then they sell out. By the time they are readily available, the new year is here and another phone comes along and I buy it instead.

I hate this, same thing with iPhone. Do they really not think to make more to get them out sooner?
Nobody in their right mind would wait a month for no good reason when they could walk in to a Verizon store and pick one up right away
