Hate to say it but I'm bored with the EVO3D. I know...I know...many of you will tell me what an amazing phone I have. But I guess if I'm honest I was hoping for more. Seems too much like my old EVO 4G...namely sense. And yeah I'm aware I can do a launcher...I also was hoping since I heard through numerous podcasts that dual core phones would likely have better battery life since they have to work 50% less hard to do stuff our single core phones did. Well my battery is pretty much exactly the same as I what I got on the 4G. If I actually use my phone than I get till around 4pm...under what I consider moderate use I cannot make it through one day. Now I have a friend who has a 3D and claims it has great battery life....however this friend turns everything that could possibly take battery and rarely uses his phone. Then he is happy to show off how much percentage of battery life he has at the end of the day like its some sort of trophy. Hey if you buy a car you should be able to drive it! What good is a car if you park it in the garage and never drive it?

And what about the 3D? After a week of watching all of the 3D content on Youtube, the Green Hornet and looking at a couple pics I took...I doubt I will use it ever again. If there isnt new content coming or an easy way to share content (other than this forum) than who cares that I got 3D? I would much rather have a better 2D camera than mediocre 2 and 3D set of cameras.

Anyways it's late...and I needed to vent abit about this phone. Still holding out hope that the Galaxy S2 will be hitting Sprint here in my 30day return window.

And you think the Galaxy II is going to be more exciting? Touchwhiz 4 excites you?

Going back to 800 x 480 will make you happier? Hey, at least you will have some seriously black blacks, and oversaturated cartoon colors.

Just saying...not sure what it is about the Galaxy S2 that will make you less bored with any phone?

If you aren't happy then return it. That's the beauty of trying it out for 30 days. As for the sharing of 3D media, as it becomes more popular there will be more content and more people will have the same ability to send, receive, and view it. Also, there will be an infinite number of possibilities in the development world.

You are the person who has to use the phone so you should have a device you like. As for being bored, I am constantly learning something new about this phone and as one who didn't think I'd use the 3D aspect much, I find that I am doing a lot of experimenting with new ways of taking pictures and recording video.

Good luck with finding the right device for you. What we think really doesn't matter, you have to be pleased or it is pointless.

I was thinking the same thing about the battery, but once it finally broke in.... It is lasting a lot longer than my EVO 4G. Lasted over 25 hours with normal usage.. where my 4G would need to charge.

I have found that I have had much better battery life with this phone than with my EVO 4G. And yes, I use it... constantly. Haha, I browse the web on this thing more than I do my netbook. I guess it is because I always have it with me, and of course I can't do personal stuff on our pc at work.

There are people who just like the thrill of a new toy. These are the people who will never be satisfied. What ever the next device is after a short time the thrill will wear off and it will be on to the next. That's why there are people who cheat on their partners. Once the thrill is gone they need a new thrill. Same concept.

EVO - LUTION 3D

Never thought of it that way but it certainly makes sense.

The thrill will wear off with any phone once you get used to it. The EVO 4G was the only phone I still actually liked after 1 year. Its an awesome phone that can do so much. I see the 3D being the exact same way. While it will lose the "new-ness" it will still keep me interested because it has so much. Wanna be bored REAL FAST? Play with an Iphone. My daughter has one and I was so like " whats the big deal?" Right now I dont see any phone as having a wow factor lasting longer than any other. EVO, EVO 3D? It's just a phone....with some cool $hit on it! :p

Kurt,

You are talking about finding fullfillment. No phone is going to fix how you feel.

It was interesting to see the user name that you picked. Freud might say that means something. Have a good Sunday morning!

I'm not as excited as I was for my Nexus One, but that was my first Android phone and when I picked up the 3D I had been an android user for almost a year and a half. At some point it comes down to you have a device that runs android. If Android's not new to you, I'm not sure what kind of excitement you're expecting.

I'm pretty happy with it, it's a good step up from the last phone and it's doing what I expected and a little more.

I am always interested when I read a post about somebody getting bored with the phone because they were expecting more. I can understand that if the processor can't keep up with what you want it to do or there is some basic stuff missing. But I don't think this phone qualifies for any of that. So I then wonder what people were expecting if this isn't measuring up. Because honestly, I am not sure what this phone can't do. I guess maybe more 3D stuff if that is your want, though I have no use for the thing but each to their own.

So what did you want from this phone that made you say "I expected more".

I totally agree with you but support the OP. For me its like the lesser of the evils since the 2d cam and video on the 3d sucks and will be far superior on the Samsung.

Phone $199 - $75(re-sign credit) - $150 (Evo Trade-in) = Sprint paid me $25 to upgrade to a faster, smarter, Ice Cream up-gradable phone ... Nuff Said.

Lol...i know the feeling. While, im definitely happy to have the 3d, it isnt that much better than the evo 4g.

In a way, its a good thing as it means as long as you have a decent android phone, you wont be missing out by not upgrading to the latest and greatest.

I do like the 3d feature. I just have to figure out how I can print to paper (I'm sure there s a forum topic to figure this out.

Maybe one day they will get to the point that we will get a new major system upgrade every week, so we have something new to play with all the time.

Consistency? Who needs it!! I want something new!!

Maybe change your wallpaper and skins every day? I am still puzzled by the "bored" part, I think what you need to do is swap platforms every few months to keep you entertained.

Honestly, once you know how you want a phone to work for you, and you upgrade to a new one, you will eventually get that phone to work, function and look just like your old one. Why? Because thats what humanity does, we like something that is familiar.

Even if you go to a Galaxy s 2, or a different android phone, like me i use ADW Ex Launcher. I would download it and get my applications back. Done and done, its now my same old phone with different hardware. And thats the purpose for me of getting the 3D upgrading from my 4G. Better hardware, battery, screen, etc. I knew there was going to be alot of the same, and thats fine by me.
